The department’s resources index groups materials such as state notifications, GST laws, and circulars, but the exact layout and click-by-click route on the live site may change.
Start with Kerala SGST’s official resources
Use the Kerala SGST Department website as your starting point. Its official resources index includes categories for state GST notifications, GST laws, and circulars. Treat those categories as a guide to the kinds of material available, not as a guarantee that the current website uses the same headings or menu sequence.
If the site’s navigation does not make the document easy to locate, search the web using Kerala GST together with the document type—such as notification, order, or circular—and any known number, year, subject, section, or rule. These terms help narrow results because official documents identify themselves through those details. Prefer a result hosted on an official Kerala tax domain, then open the document to confirm it.
Verify the document before relying on it
A search-result title or snippet is not enough to establish that you have the right record. Check the document’s own text and compare the relevant identifiers:

- Issuing authority: Confirm that it is a Kerala SGST document, rather than a central GST publication or GST Council material.
- Document type and subject: Make sure it is an order, notification, or circular that addresses the issue you are researching.
- Number and date: Match the number and date shown in the document, including any year or jurisdictional suffix.
- File number and issuing office: Record these when present; they can help distinguish documents with similar subjects.
- Statutory reference: Check the cited section or rule against the legal question you have.

“GST order” can refer to different proceedings. The cited Kerala circulars illustrate why a section number and the kind of order matter when searching:

These are different document classes. If you know the proceeding, include its section or order type in your search rather than searching for “Kerala GST order” alone.
Check guidance on adjudication and numbering dates
Numbering instructions and responsibility for adjudication can change. For a departmental communication addressed to a taxpayer, check whether it has the computer-generated Reference Number (RFN) discussed in Circular No. 14/2023, dated 22 July 2023. That circular describes the RFN requirement for covered communications and also records exceptions. Its absence by itself therefore does not establish that a communication is invalid. The cited material does not establish a public RFN lookup or verification page.

Read Circular No. 14/2023 and compare the communication with the circumstances and exceptions it describes. If the number or status remains unclear, use the department’s official contact or grievance channels rather than treating an online search result as verification.
