Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesTo download a quote’s historical prices, open its Historical Data section, set the time period, data to show and frequency, then select Download to save a CSV. Yahoo Finance’s current help says historical-data CSV downloads require a Yahoo Finance Gold subscription. “All” means all history Yahoo makes available for that specific quote and your selected settings—not a guaranteed, complete record for every security.
Download historical prices on a desktop browser
- Go to Yahoo Finance and search for a company or symbol.
- Open the quote from the search results.
- Select Historical Data.
- Choose Time Period, Show and Frequency. Yahoo says the quote data refreshes automatically when you change these settings.
- Select Download and save the CSV. Yahoo’s help page says the download requires Yahoo Finance Gold; the option may not be available for every instrument.
The downloadable data may include prices, dividends and splits. The available fields depend on the quote and Yahoo’s data.
Download from a mobile browser
- Visit Yahoo Finance in your mobile browser, search for the company or symbol, and open its quote.
- Tap Historical Data above the chart.
- Set Time Period, Show and Frequency, then tap Apply.
- Tap Download. How the CSV is saved or where it appears depends on your device.
Yahoo documents these steps for mobile browsers. The controls differ from the desktop workflow, but the result is the historical-data CSV for the selected quote and settings.
What “all price history” includes—and what it may not
Yahoo says historical prices usually do not go back earlier than 1970. The date range you select does not create older records: if it extends beyond the history Yahoo has for that quote, Yahoo displays the data available within the range. The advanced chart can show data as far back as the security has traded or data is available, and offers a custom date range; that does not establish that every quote has a continuous record from its first trade or that all chart data can be downloaded.
#1 Best Overall
Download availability is also quote-specific. Yahoo says licensing restrictions prevent the download feature from appearing for some instruments. If you do not see Download, Yahoo does not document a way to enable it for that quote, so do not assume another symbol’s controls or data coverage will be the same.
Do not confuse quote history with portfolio export
Yahoo’s My Portfolio CSV export is a separate, desktop-browser-only feature for basic list fields such as symbols, prices or dates. It does not download an individual quote’s historical price series. For price history, use that quote’s Historical Data section.

Check data provenance and reuse terms
Yahoo identifies Morningstar as the provider for international historical chart data and daily updates, and Commodity Systems, Inc. as the provider for US equities and global index historical data and daily updates. The provider can vary by market and data type, so Yahoo Finance history should not be described as coming from a single source. See Yahoo’s exchanges and data providers information.
Yahoo Finance states: “Do not redistribute information – Yahoo Finance provides all information as is.” It also says: “All data provided on Yahoo Finance is provided for informational purposes only, and is not intended for trading or investing purposes.” Treat the CSV accordingly: downloading it does not mean you have permission to redistribute the data or rely on it as trading guidance.
