Which Coinbase support channel should you use?
| Channel | Best for | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Help Center search | Common questions and known errors | Start at Coinbase Contact Us. Self-service may resolve an issue without opening a case. |
| Live chat | Account-specific troubleshooting and follow-up | The flow may begin with a virtual assistant. Whether you can reach a human agent depends on the issue and region. |
| Request a call | A complex issue that is easier to explain in real time | Choose it in the official support flow if it appears. It is not available in every region or for every issue. |
| Email or contact form | A written case, especially when you cannot sign in | Use the contact option presented after selecting your issue in the Help Center; do not rely on a guessed or copied email address. |
| Postal mail | Formal written correspondence | Coinbase lists mail among its support routes, but it is not suitable for an urgent security problem. |
| Formal complaint | A documented escalation after ordinary support | Use Coinbase’s complaint process after contacting support. It does not guarantee a particular outcome. |
Coinbase describes support options including chat, phone, email, and mail, but the actual choices depend on the flow and your circumstances. Use the official Help Center rather than a search ad, forum post, social-media reply, or unsolicited message to find a contact route. Coinbase warns about fake support numbers and sites in its account-security guidance.
How to contact Coinbase through live chat
- Open Coinbase Contact Us by typing the address yourself or using a saved bookmark.
- Sign in if you can. Signing in can make the support flow more specific to your account.
- Select the product involved, such as Coinbase exchange or Coinbase Wallet, then choose the issue category and the closest matching problem.
- Review the suggested troubleshooting steps. If they do not resolve the issue, scroll to the contact options shown for that issue.
- Select Live chat, Chat with virtual assistant, or the equivalent option currently displayed.
- If the assistant cannot help, follow the escalation option it offers. Save the case number and chat transcript for any follow-up.
The Help Center may present a virtual assistant before a human agent. A human handoff is not guaranteed for every issue or region, and interface labels can change.
How to contact Coinbase by phone
For a callback, sign in to the Help Center if possible, select the relevant category and issue, then look under Contact us for Request a call. Complete the verification and callback instructions shown there. Coinbase says the callback option may not be available in every region.
For U.S. and Canadian customers, Coinbase’s current Community Support page lists the following numbers and says phone support is available 24/7. These are region-specific listings, not a promise that every issue will be resolved by phone. Checked August 18, 2026; confirm the current listing before dialing.
- Toll-free: +1 (888) 908-7930
- Local: +1 (844) 613-1499
Do not call a number supplied in a text, email, online post, or unexpected call. Coinbase says staff will not call directly to handle account support or troubleshooting; end an unexpected call claiming to be Coinbase and initiate contact yourself through the Help Center.
How to contact Coinbase by email
For ordinary account support, start at the Help Center and select the issue. Use the email or contact option Coinbase presents in that flow. Its support instructions describe email as a possible route after troubleshooting, including for people who cannot sign in or have lost access to their email, password, or two-step verification.
Coinbase lists [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected] among legitimate Coinbase email addresses. That does not make any one of them a universal replacement for the issue-specific support flow. Check the sender and context, and start a support conversation independently at the official site rather than replying to an unexpected message. See Coinbase’s email authenticity guidance.
Recommended Free Tools
To report suspected phishing or Coinbase impersonation, use [email protected]. Coinbase’s phishing guidance recommends providing the complete suspicious email, full headers where possible, phone number, URL or website, screenshots, and a description of what the sender requested. Do not use that reporting address as a substitute for an ordinary account-support case.
What to do if you cannot sign in
Use Coinbase’s I can’t sign in route rather than repeatedly trying random numbers or sending identity documents to an unverified address. Select the account-access problem that best matches your situation and follow the verification steps shown. Coinbase may need to validate your identity, and it does not promise immediate access restoration.
Rank #3
- Forgotten password: Use the official password-recovery route.
- Lost access to email: Tell Coinbase through its account-access flow that the email account is unavailable; secure or recover that email account through its provider as appropriate.
- Lost or changed phone, or two-step verification failure: Choose the relevant verification-recovery option and complete the requested checks.
- New device or identity check: Submit information only through the official Coinbase site or app, not through an unsolicited message or unfamiliar upload page.
- Locked account or suspected takeover: Prioritize the official account-lock and recovery steps, then open a support case.
- Restricted or closing account: Use the issue-specific Help Center route; do not assume a general phone call can remove a restriction.
If the problem is with Coinbase Wallet rather than an exchange login, select Wallet as the product. Wallet is self-custody: Coinbase support cannot reveal or replace a lost recovery phrase. Anyone asking you to disclose that phrase is seeking control of the wallet.
What to do if your Coinbase account may be compromised
- Stop communicating with the suspicious caller or sender. Do not click their links or install software they recommend.
- Do not transfer crypto to a “safe,” “secure,” or “temporary” address, even if the person knows details about your account.
- If you can access Coinbase, use its official account-locking flow. Then change your Coinbase password and the password for the associated email account.
- Review active sessions, devices, recovery methods, and authorized applications; remove anything you do not recognize where the service allows it.
- Open a case through the Help Center and report the impersonation or phishing attempt to
[email protected]. - If a linked bank account or card may be affected, contact the bank or card issuer using its official number.
- Preserve transaction IDs, wallet addresses, timestamps, case numbers, and messages. Do not alter evidence that may help explain what happened.
Coinbase’s support guidance recommends locking a compromised account and contacting support through the Help Center.
How to recognize fake Coinbase support
Stop if a supposed Coinbase representative asks you to:
Rank #4
- Give them your password, a two-step verification code, or access to your email.
- Install remote-access or remote-support software.
- Send cryptocurrency to unlock, protect, or recover your account.
- Share a Coinbase Wallet recovery phrase or move funds to a “safe” address.
- Pay a fee to release funds or restore access.
Coinbase says its employees will not request these things. Other warning signs include an unexpected call, pressure or threats, a phone number that does not appear on Coinbase’s own support pages, or a link to a domain you did not reach independently. A Coinbase-looking sender name or email address alone does not prove a message is genuine.
If you receive an unexpected call claiming to be Coinbase, hang up. Open the app or type the Help Center address yourself and contact support from there. If you already shared a code, password, recovery phrase, or sent funds, treat it as an urgent security incident and follow the compromise steps above.

A concise, factual report helps explain the problem without exposing credentials. Include only details relevant to the issue:
Best Value
- The email associated with the Coinbase account and your username or account identifier, if applicable.
- The product involved and whether you can still sign in.
- When the issue began, the exact error message, and what you have already tried.
- For a transaction: transaction ID or hash, asset, network, amount, destination address, and approximate time.
- Any previous case number and whether you suspect unauthorized access.
- Relevant screenshots with passwords, codes, recovery phrases, and sensitive payment details redacted.
- Device, browser, or app version if it is relevant to the error.
You can organize a request like this:
Product:
Account email:
Can I sign in?:
Problem began:
Error message:
Transaction ID (if relevant):
Asset/network (if relevant):
What I have already tried:
Security concern?:
Previous case number (if any):
Never include your password, authentication code, wallet recovery phrase, full card number, or email-account credentials in a support ticket.
Coinbase support phone numbers by country

How to escalate an unresolved Coinbase problem
Keep the case number, support transcript, dates, and copies of relevant messages. If ordinary support does not resolve the issue, Coinbase’s U.S. User Agreement says customers should first contact Coinbase Support and then use its formal complaint process if the matter remains unresolved. Start from Contact Us and select the Submit a complaint link in the Help Center. The applicable process can depend on the Coinbase entity, product, location, and type of dispute; a complaint does not guarantee reimbursement, immediate access, or a particular decision.

A regulator cannot be assumed to reverse a cryptocurrency transfer. If you sent crypto to the wrong address, preserve the transaction details and report it, but do not rely on support to reverse it.
