What should I check if a TCS dividend was not credited?
First compare the event’s actual payment date with your bank statement. A published payment date confirms the schedule, not the status of an individual transfer. How do I claim an older unclaimed TCS dividend?
TCS’s Investor FAQ says dividends unclaimed for seven consecutive years are transferred to the Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF). Once a dividend or shares have been transferred, the FAQ directs eligible claimants to use Form IEPF-5 and links to information about shareholders in the IEPF process. Check the company’s current instructions and the status of the particular amount before filing.
Where can I check TDS on my TCS dividend?
Tax credit is a separate record from the bank payment. TCS says the statement to check depends on the tax year: it identifies Form 168 for Tax Year 2026-27 transactions and Form 26AS for transactions through FY 2025-26. The entry may not appear on the same day as the dividend payment: TCS says the company must file its quarterly TDS return and the tax authorities must process it first.

Withholding depends on your circumstances
TCS’s FAQ currently describes 10% TDS for a resident individual with updated PAN when aggregate dividend payable during the tax year exceeds ₹10,000, and no TDS below that stated threshold. It describes 20% plus applicable surcharge and cess for nonresident shareholders, subject to treaty relief where required documents are submitted. These are TCS’s current FAQ statements, not a personal tax calculation: residence, PAN, treaty eligibility, timing, and current law can affect the result.
