Skydance Corporation’s publicly traded Class B common stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange under SKYD, according to the company’s October 2026 SEC filing. To buy it, search for SKYD in a brokerage account that supports U.S. exchange-listed stocks, verify the issuer and share class, review the live quote and order details, then place an order that fits your plan. The stock is nonvoting, and the recently completed Warner Bros. Discovery acquisition, substantial new debt and a large planned warrant distribution make it important to check more than the ticker before investing.

What is Skydance stock, and what ticker should you use?

The listed security is Skydance Corporation Class B common stock, traded on the NYSE as SKYD. Skydance’s October 6, 2026 SEC filing reports the transfer from Nasdaq to the NYSE and the symbol change from PSKY to SKYD. Older quote pages and articles that show PSKY or Nasdaq describe the former listing, not the current common-stock listing as of the filing date.

Before submitting an order, check the name of the issuer, the words “Class B common stock,” and the exchange in your broker’s quote or order preview. A ticker search alone is not enough when a company has recently changed its name, symbol and listing venue. Do not treat an old PSKY quote as a current SKYD price.

Detail What to use or know
Issuer Skydance Corporation
Security Class B common stock
Current symbol and venue in the October 6, 2026 SEC filing NYSE: SKYD
Previous symbol and venue PSKY on Nasdaq, before the October 6, 2026 transfer
Historical price cited in the October 2026 prospectus supplement $9.50 per share, the last reported Nasdaq sale price on October 2, 2026; it is not a current quote

The company’s share count is also time-specific. Its prospectus supplement reported 1,093,020,754 Class B shares outstanding as of October 2, 2026. Approximately 622 million were held by excluded or restricted holders, the 401(k) plan and a master trust, according to that document. Because warrants and transactions can change the count, use a current filing rather than this dated figure when assessing ownership or per-share valuation.

How to buy SKYD shares through a brokerage

You need a brokerage account that permits trading in U.S. exchange-listed shares. Brokers differ in account eligibility, available order types, fees and trading controls; the steps below are a general process rather than broker-specific instructions.

  1. Open or sign in to an eligible brokerage account. Complete any identity, funding or trading-permission steps required by your provider. Confirm that the account can place orders for NYSE-listed shares.
  2. Search for SKYD. In the quote or trade screen, verify that the result is Skydance Corporation Class B common stock on the NYSE. If the screen shows PSKY, Nasdaq or a differently named security, stop and check the instrument details rather than assuming it is the current common stock.
  3. Review the live quote and order preview. Check the displayed price, quote time, bid and ask if shown, trading session, share quantity and estimated order value. The $9.50 figure in the prospectus supplement is only a historical October 2 Nasdaq sale price, not a price to use for an order.
  4. Choose an order type and quantity. A market order prioritizes execution but does not guarantee a particular price. A limit order sets the highest price you are willing to pay, but may not execute. Read your broker’s order terms, including any restrictions on trading outside regular market hours.
  5. Review and submit only if the details match your intent. Confirm the symbol, share class, exchange, order type, quantity, price limit if applicable and estimated cost. After placing the order, check its status and any execution details in the account.

This is a transaction process, not a recommendation to buy. A brokerage interface can help identify and trade the security; it cannot establish whether the shares are attractively valued or appropriate for your circumstances.

Why the company changed from Paramount Skydance to Skydance

“Skydance stock” can refer to different entities depending on the date. The earlier Skydance Media was a private company. It merged with Paramount Global in August 2025, creating a publicly traded successor named Paramount Skydance Corporation. That successor later changed its name to Skydance Corporation. On October 6, 2026, Skydance announced that it had completed its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), and its common-stock listing moved from Nasdaq to the NYSE under SKYD.

The distinction matters because a search result for the former private Skydance Media is not the same thing as a public share, and older references to Paramount Skydance, PSKY or Nasdaq may reflect an earlier stage of the listed company. For a current quote, use the legal issuer name and share class shown in the brokerage order screen.

What the WBD acquisition changes for an investor

Skydance said on October 6, 2026, that it had completed the WBD acquisition. WBD shares ceased trading in connection with the transaction; the closing announcement stated that WBD shareholders received $31.01666668 in cash per WBD share under the transaction terms. That cash amount was consideration for WBD shareholders, not a price or payment for SKYD holders.

The combined company brings together studios, streaming services, television assets, news, sports, content libraries and franchises, according to Skydance’s announcement. This breadth may offer a number of ways to earn revenue, but it also makes the company’s results dependent on a wide range of businesses and on integrating them effectively. The company’s description is an issuer account of the combined operations, not an independent assessment of their performance.

Integration questions to follow

Acquiring assets does not by itself establish that they will operate well together or generate the expected returns. As results and filings become available, investors can compare execution with the company’s stated plans and look for evidence about:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Costs of combining businesses, including restructuring, systems and other integration spending.
  • Whether creative talent and key business relationships are retained.
  • Content spending and the performance of theatrical releases, television programming and libraries.
  • Streaming economics, including profitability and the relationship between subscriber revenue, content costs and churn where reported.
  • Advertising and distribution performance across the combined portfolio.
  • Reported impairments, restructuring charges or other changes that may indicate assets or plans are not performing as expected.

These are monitoring questions, not claims that a particular outcome has occurred. Skydance itself cautioned that integration and synergy plans may not deliver as expected.

How the announced warrant distribution could affect SKYD

Skydance’s prospectus supplement described a planned distribution of one transferable warrant for each eligible Class B share held of record on October 5, 2026. The company’s October 6 supplemental FAQ listed October 13 as the issue date and October 14 as the ex-dividend date. Those dates were immediately upcoming in the information available as of October 9; that material does not establish whether distribution, settlement or trading proceeded as scheduled. Check a current company or NYSE notice and the broker’s account records for the actual status.

The issuer FAQ says eligible holders need to hold through the issue date to receive the warrants. A buyer after the October 5 record date should not assume that buying SKYD entitles them to this distribution. The prospectus also excludes specified restricted holders and certain plans and trusts, and a broker holding shares in nominee form may have its own process for allocating entitlements and handling fractional amounts. Ask the broker how it treats eligibility, nominee holdings and rounding; do not assume every beneficial owner receives an identical whole-warrant amount.

Key warrant terms reported by the issuer

Term What the October 2026 issuer materials say
Potential number Up to 471.3 million warrants
Initial exercise price $12 per Class B share, subject to adjustments and the governing warrant terms
Shares purchasable Each warrant initially permits its holder to buy one Class B share
Expected separate trading symbol SKYDW; the prospectus says separate trading is expected, not assured
Expected term 10 years, subject to possible earlier expiration under specified conditions
Issuer’s estimated potential gross cash proceeds Approximately $5.7 billion if approximately 471 million warrants are issued and all are exercised for cash at $12; actual proceeds depend on exercise levels, settlement form and costs

Check the final terms and any later notices before relying on this summary. Anti-dilution adjustments and other conditions can affect the initial terms. The prospectus warns that a separate warrant market may not be orderly or liquid, so a displayed symbol does not guarantee an easy sale at a desired price.

Exercise is optional, but dilution is not just a theoretical detail

A warrant is not a common share. Its holder may exercise it, sell or transfer it if permitted, or leave it unexercised, subject to the governing terms. Until exercise results in the acquisition of shares, warrant holders generally do not have the Class B shareholder’s voting or dividend rights. The initial $12 exercise price is a separate payment required to acquire a share; it is not the market price of SKYD.

The prospectus estimated that full physical exercise of the registered warrants would increase the October 2 share count from 1,093,020,754 to 1,564,320,754, before the PIPE transaction. That is an issuer scenario, not a forecast that every warrant will be exercised. If other holders exercise and an existing shareholder does not, that shareholder’s proportionate ownership can decline. Exercise may also bring cash into the company, but the amount depends on how many warrants are issued and exercised, whether they are settled in cash or another permitted form, and related costs.

For a buyer evaluating the common shares, the practical questions are whether the distribution actually occurred, how many warrants were issued, where and how actively they trade, what exercise and expiration terms apply, and how the company’s share count changes over time. Do not treat the expected SKYDW symbol or the $5.7 billion estimate as proof of a liquid market or guaranteed proceeds.

Voting rights and who controls the company

Skydance’s disclosures say its Class B common stock is nonvoting and describe concentrated ownership and controlled-company status, including exemptions from certain NYSE governance requirements. Public ownership of SKYD therefore does not necessarily provide meaningful influence over corporate decisions. Buying the shares gives exposure to their economic performance, but do not assume that one share carries the same voting power or governance protections as voting stock at another company.

When reviewing the latest proxy statement and SEC filings, look for the voting structure, the holders with control, the governance provisions that apply, and any changes to ownership. This is particularly relevant if you are comparing SKYD with another media company: shareholder rights and control can differ even when companies operate in similar industries.

Debt, cash generation and the cost of the acquisition

Acquisition financing is a central issue to examine alongside the combined company’s prospects. Skydance’s October 6, 2026 Form 8-K reported that it issued senior secured notes on October 5: $41.4 billion in U.S.-dollar notes, consisting of $30.0 billion of first-lien notes and $11.4 billion of second-lien notes, plus €885 million of second-lien notes. These are the reported issuances, not a complete statement of the company’s total debt or a forecast of its interest expense.

Debt can make a company more sensitive to operating setbacks because interest and principal obligations remain important even if revenue or cash generation disappoints. In subsequent filings, examine total debt across the combined company, interest expense, maturity dates, repayment and refinancing needs, covenant terms, available cash and actual free cash flow. Also consider whether integration costs and content investment compete with debt reduction for cash. Do not infer the company’s current leverage from the note issuance alone: use the latest reported balance sheet and financial statements.

Management targets are goals, not results

In its October 6 acquisition announcement, Skydance described operating commitments and financial expectations for the combined business. These figures are targets or forward-looking statements; they are not achieved results or guarantees.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Issuer-stated target or commitment How to interpret it
At least 30 theatrical films annually A stated minimum production commitment; check later company reporting for delivery and timing.
A minimum 45-day theatrical window A stated release-window commitment, not a measure of film profitability.
More than 180 television shows or series A stated scale of television operations; the announcement does not make this a profitability figure.
At least $6 billion in run-rate synergies within three years A management target for recurring savings or benefits; track reported progress and the costs required to achieve it.
More than $10 billion in free cash flow by 2030 An issuer expectation, not a current cash-flow result.
Net leverage of 3.0x by the end of 2029 A target for a future leverage measure; assess it against the company’s reported definition and actual debt and earnings.

The announcement cautions that expected synergies, financial goals, integration plans and leverage targets may not be realized on time or at all. When results are reported, compare actual progress with each target, the company’s definitions and the relevant time period. In particular, a “run-rate” synergy estimate is not the same thing as savings already realized in a reporting period, and a future free-cash-flow expectation should not be treated as present cash available to shareholders.

A practical checklist before deciding whether SKYD fits

A current quote tells you what the market is asking at a particular moment; it does not answer whether the share price is attractive relative to the business. The information cited here does not establish a current market price, independent valuation, analyst consensus or suitable value for SKYD. Use a fresh quote and the latest financial statements before making a valuation judgment.

Check valuation against reported performance

  • Use current, reported revenue and operating performance rather than relying on the size of the combined library or management’s plans.
  • Consider debt and cash alongside market capitalization. A share-price comparison alone can obscure the obligations associated with a heavily financed acquisition.
  • Assess actual cash generation and how much is available after operating needs, interest costs, integration spending and investment in content.
  • If comparing media companies, consider business mix, streaming profitability and churn where reported, advertising exposure, debt and maturities, free cash flow, integration progress, shareholder voting rights and potential dilution. Franchise names or subscriber counts alone do not show which stock is better valued.

Read current company and SEC materials

The Skydance investor-relations page links company filings, earnings materials and shareholder resources. Start with the latest annual or quarterly filing, acquisition-related filings, earnings materials and any current notice about the warrants. SEC filings are the place to verify dated share counts, debt terms, risk factors and changes in the capital structure. Company announcements are useful for management’s stated plans, but distinguish projections from reported results.

Match the risks to your own time horizon

Consider whether you can tolerate uncertain integration results, changes in the share count, concentrated control and the effects of debt. A short holding period can be affected by price movements and market liquidity; a longer holding period still depends on whether the combined business can execute its plans and service its obligations. Decide in advance how much exposure is appropriate for you, and avoid basing an investment decision on a stale ticker page, a historical quote or a target that has not yet been achieved.

What to verify before placing an order

  • Broker quote shows Skydance Corporation Class B common stock, NYSE ticker SKYD.
  • The displayed price and quote time are current; $9.50 is only the October 2 historical Nasdaq sale price cited in the prospectus.
  • You understand that the common shares are nonvoting and that control is concentrated.
  • You have checked current filings for debt, cash, financial results and the post-acquisition share count.
  • You have confirmed the actual status and terms of the warrant distribution rather than assuming a post-record-date purchase qualifies.
  • Your valuation view accounts for operating results, leverage, integration, possible dilution and your own risk tolerance.
