You can still buy Forza Horizon 4 as a physical Xbox disc. Playground Games says discs purchased after the game’s December 15, 2024 delisting continue to work and can use online features. The Microsoft Store and Steam no longer offer it for new digital purchase, and it has left Xbox Game Pass.
How to get Forza Horizon 4 now
For a new purchase, look for a physical Xbox copy from a retailer or resale marketplace. The publisher confirms that physical copies bought after delisting work, but current stock, prices, and individual sellers’ reliability are not established here. Check the actual listing before paying.

- Confirm your console can use discs. A physical copy requires an Xbox with a disc drive. Check your exact console model; do not assume every Xbox Series X|S or other listed platform can play a disc.
- Check the listing details. Verify that it is Forza Horizon 4, whether it is new or used, which edition is included, and any region or compatibility notes the seller provides.
- Review the seller and return terms. Confirm the seller’s reputation, what is included, shipping costs, and whether you can return the item if the disc is damaged or incompatible.
- Install and update the game. The publisher says physical copies remain usable after delisting and can use online features. The listing or publisher statement does not guarantee a particular disc’s condition or that a seller’s offer is legitimate.
What happened to digital sales and Game Pass?
Playground Games announced that Forza Horizon 4 would be removed from the Microsoft Store and Steam, and leave Xbox Game Pass, on December 15, 2024. That date has passed, so an old store page or search result is not evidence that a new digital purchase is available. The publisher attributed the delisting to licensing and partner agreements. Read the official delisting announcement.
If you already owned the game digitally, the situation is different: Playground Games says existing owners can continue downloading and playing it, including offline, online, and multiplayer features. Delisting ended new digital sales; it did not, according to the publisher, revoke existing ownership.

What to know about editions and DLC
The publisher said DLC began being delisted on June 25, 2024. Between that date and the base game’s December 15, 2024 delisting, Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate editions remained available. That historical availability does not mean DLC can now be bought separately. If you are considering a physical copy, inspect the listing to see which edition it is and what it includes; do not assume an edition name means every add-on is currently obtainable.
Playground Games also described a limited token offer for some Game Pass players who had purchased DLC and held an active, full-paid (not discounted) subscription on June 25, 2024. Tokens were to be sent through the Xbox Message Center, with unused tokens beginning to expire June 25, 2026. This was a past, restricted offer—not a general way to get the game now.
Can you buy a digital key instead?
The official announcement establishes the end of Microsoft Store and Steam sales, but it does not verify the legitimacy, availability, or terms of third-party key offers. Treat claims that a key will work as something to verify with the seller before purchase; the announcement is not proof that a particular key is valid, unused, or redeemable in your region.

The official Xbox product page lists Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC as platforms. That broad platform listing does not establish that a physical disc works on every model, particularly a console without a disc drive. For a disc purchase, confirm the exact console and listing details. See the Xbox product page.
