Follow the requirements in each live listing: titles, duties, and qualifications vary by role and location.
What a Pinterest moderator job may involve
“Moderator” may not be the title Pinterest uses. The company describes Trust & Safety as a broader function focused on protecting people from harm, defending platform integrity, and supporting safer discovery. Its team includes work beyond reviewing individual Pins, so read the duties in each listing rather than assuming every safety role is frontline content review. Pinterest Trust & Safety careers
Pinterest says enforcement can involve user reports, automated review, human review, or a combination of these methods. The approach can depend on available technology, content volume, and the complexity of a decision. The work is therefore not simply independent removal of content; it sits within a policy and enforcement system. Pinterest’s enforcement practices
Pinterest’s 2025 Digital Services Act (DSA) report says review teams receive specialized onboarding and continuing training as harmful-content trends and policies change. It also describes specially trained Trust & Safety agents reviewing reports in designated channels for certain policy violations or local-law categories. This describes Pinterest’s training for its teams; it does not establish a required degree or prior job for applicants. Pinterest’s 2025 DSA systemic-risk report

How to look and apply for relevant openings
- Search the official Careers directory. Use its job-title or skill, location, team, and employment-type filters. Try terms such as “Trust & Safety,” “content safety,” “policy,” “operations,” and “review.” Pinterest Careers job directory
- Read the complete listing. Check whether the work involves individual content review, policy, operations, product, or data; note the location, work arrangement, employment type, seniority, and every stated qualification. The active posting—not a general moderator checklist—is the authority for that vacancy.
- Prepare using public policies. Read Pinterest’s Community Guidelines and enforcement explanations so you can discuss how rules apply, why context matters, and how enforcement can include removal or distribution limits. Do not present public information as access to Pinterest’s internal review criteria. Pinterest Community Guidelines Pinterest’s enforcement practices
- Show relevant skills with examples. If you have suitable work or project experience, explain how you applied written rules consistently, wrote clear rationales, handled sensitive decisions responsibly, and worked carefully with ambiguity. These are practical ways to demonstrate readiness for policy-and-review work, not official universal hiring requirements.
- Apply through verified Pinterest channels. Pinterest’s careers information identifies a staffing-partner talent community for contractor roles and warns about recruiting scams. Do not pay a recruiter or share sensitive information through an unverified contact. Pinterest Careers
What qualifications should you have?
The public Pinterest pages reviewed do not establish a universal required degree, minimum experience level, language, residency, or certification for a “Pinterest moderator.” Qualifications depend on the vacancy and its location. If a listing requires particular language skills, regional knowledge, experience, or work arrangements, treat those as requirements for that role—not for every Trust & Safety job.
Pinterest’s public materials explain its high-level policies and enforcement approach, not confidential reviewer manuals. Use the public guidelines to prepare and be candid about what you know; do not claim inside knowledge of internal processes.

Compare actual postings on the details that affect the work and your eligibility:
- Responsibilities: individual content review versus policy, operations, product, or data work.
- Employment route: employee or contractor, including any staffing-partner process named by Pinterest.
- Location and work arrangement: confirm where the role is based and any stated remote or office expectations.
- Role-specific criteria: check seniority, experience, language, and regional requirements only where the posting states them.
- Nature of the work: understand the kinds of decisions or content the listing describes before applying.
Vacancies can change, and a relevant position may appear under a different title or team. Use Pinterest’s live directory and the specific listing for current details. Pinterest’s policy search result noted revisions scheduled to take effect November 12, 2026; check the current policy text when preparing, rather than relying on an older version.
