To add money to your IRCTC eWallet, sign in to the IRCTC eTicketing website, choose the eWallet deposit option, enter and confirm an amount, select an available payment method, and submit. You can check the result under Deposit History. IRCTC’s published guide lists a ₹100 minimum, ₹100 deposit increments, and a ₹10,000 maximum wallet balance; confirm the limits shown on the live deposit page because IRCTC reserves the right to change them.
Steps to deposit money into your IRCTC eWallet
- Sign in: Log in to your account on the IRCTC eTicketing website.
- Open the deposit page: Choose the IRCTC eWallet deposit option from your account menu. IRCTC’s eWallet user guide calls this process “IRCTC Ewallet Deposit.”
- Enter the amount: Type the amount you want to add, then confirm it when prompted. The guide states a ₹100 minimum and deposits in multiples of ₹100. It also gives a maximum account balance of ₹10,000, so the amount you can add may be limited by your existing balance.
- Pay: Select one of the payment options displayed on the page and submit the payment. Available recharge methods can change; use the methods offered in the live form.
- Check the result: Open Deposit History to see the deposit status. If the payment is not shown as successful, check the history before attempting another deposit to avoid accidentally paying twice.
Deposit limits and charges
IRCTC’s current guide states the operating deposit limits below, but does not provide a dated revision history. The eWallet terms allow IRCTC to review limits, so the live deposit form and current service information should take precedence if they differ.

The ₹10 charge is per transaction, not a percentage of the deposit. Check the amount and applicable taxes shown before submitting payment.
What the eWallet balance can be used for
IRCTC eWallet is an advance-funded balance for booking railway tickets through IRCTC. IRCTC says the balance can only be used for railway-ticket bookings; it is not a general-purpose account for transfers or cash withdrawals. Deposited funds are described as non-refundable, and cash withdrawal or redemption is not allowed. When a ticket is cancelled and a refund is due, IRCTC credits that refund to the eWallet.

Registration and app availability
Registration verification uses PAN or Aadhaar. IRCTC’s overview describes Indian nationality and Indian-mobile conditions, while its terms specify resident Indian users aged 18 or older. Check the current eligibility requirements in the account registration flow and terms if you cannot enroll.
IRCTC’s official Rail Connect app information lists integrated eWallet. The detailed deposit steps above are documented for the website; app screens and availability can differ by version, so follow the options displayed in your app rather than assuming the website flow is identical.
