For the 2026–27 season, the available all-club compilation gives useful estimates, but it mixes personal fortunes, combined owner wealth, investment vehicles and sovereign resources. It is not an audited or like-for-like ranking.
Reported wealth and resources for every club
The figures below are rounded estimates from Win on Bet Online’s 2026–27 compilation, whose source material dates to mid-2026. They are shown in pounds as reported by that compilation; ranges are preserved. Ownership changes reported afterward are reflected in the ownership column, but they do not make earlier wealth estimates current or directly comparable.
| Club | Owner or ownership group | Reported estimate or category | How to read it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arsenal | Stan Kroenke | About £11.2bn | Compilation estimate of Kroenke’s wealth. It is separate from Arsenal’s enterprise value. |
| Aston Villa | Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, through V Sports | About £8–10bn | Combined estimate for the owners, not money necessarily held by the club. |
| AFC Bournemouth | Bill Foley | About £2.1–2.7bn | Estimated wealth range. |
| Brentford | Matthew Benham | About £220m | Rounded estimate. |
| Brighton & Hove Albion | Tony Bloom | About £1.3–1.7bn | Estimated wealth range. |
| Burnley | Not identified in the compilation’s 20-club list | Not stated | No comparable figure is supplied in that compilation. |
| Chelsea | Clearlake Capital affiliates; full control reported September 16, 2026 | No current comparable estimate stated | The compilation’s roughly £11.9bn figure applied to a pre-change group including Todd Boehly, Clearlake, Mark Walter and Hansjörg Wyss. It is not Clearlake’s personal net worth and should not be treated as a current owner figure. |
| Crystal Palace | Woody Johnson, Josh Harris, David Blitzer and Steve Parish | About £4.3–6.8bn | Combined estimate for a group; ownership composition can change. |
| Coventry City | Doug King | About £305–333m | Estimated wealth range. |
| Everton | The Friedkin Group, led by Dan Friedkin | About £6.2–7.9bn | Estimate associated with the group or lead owner; it is not a separately established club fund. |
| Fulham | Shahid Khan | About £10–13bn | Estimated wealth range. |
| Hull City | Acun Ilıcalı | About £150–375m | A wide estimate range; the compilation notes estimates vary considerably. |
| Ipswich Town | Gamechanger 20 Ltd / ORG / Portman Holdings | Multi-billion fund backing | Institutional backing, not an individual’s net worth. |
| Leeds United | 49ers Enterprises | About £5.2bn | Group estimate, not necessarily wealth personally attributable to one owner. |
| Liverpool | Fenway Sports Group, with a Bhatia-led investor group holding a reported stake above 30% after an August 2026 agreement | About £6bn in the compilation | The figure is a historical estimate associated with John W. Henry and Tom Werner/FSG, and does not account cleanly for the later investment agreement. |
| Manchester City | Sheikh Mansour / Abu Dhabi United Group | State-linked; no comparable private ceiling | State-linked resources should not be presented as one owner’s personal fortune. |
| Manchester United | Glazer family and Sir Jim Ratcliffe | About £24.4bn | Combined ownership-wealth estimate, not an audited personal figure. |
| Newcastle United | Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia | Sovereign fund assets in the hundreds of billions | PIF is a sovereign fund; its assets are not a personal fortune or the club’s spending budget. |
| Nottingham Forest | Evangelos Marinakis | About £3.3bn | Estimated personal wealth, subject to uncertainty around private assets. |
| Sunderland | Kyril Louis-Dreyfus | About £2–2.8bn | Estimated range; do not treat wider family wealth as his personal wealth. |
| Tottenham Hotspur | Joe Lewis and Daniel Levy / ENIC Group | About £4.5–5.2bn | Estimate associated with the named ownership structure; it does not mean all ENIC-associated wealth belongs to the club. |
The compilation’s list does not include Burnley among its 20 entries, despite labeling the material as a 20-club comparison. Burnley is therefore shown as not stated rather than assigned a figure. The table is organized alphabetically, not as a definitive richest-to-poorest ranking: its categories and estimates do not share a common basis.
Why the numbers are not a clean league table
A net-worth estimate for one person and the asset base of a sovereign fund answer different questions. The same problem applies to consortium totals and institutional investment backing. They may indicate that an ownership structure has substantial resources, but they are not interchangeable measures of personal wealth.
#1 Best Overall
- Individual wealth: an estimate of a person’s assets less liabilities, which may be especially uncertain when much of the wealth is privately held.
- Combined owner wealth: an aggregation across several people. It does not establish how much each owns, controls or can commit to the club.
- Institutional or corporate backing: assets held through a fund or investment vehicle, rather than wealth belonging to one person.
- Sovereign or state-linked resources: funds or resources associated with a state. They are not a private individual’s fortune.
- Club enterprise value: the estimated value of the football business itself, a separate measure from its owner’s wealth.
For example, Forbes’ Arsenal profile identifies Kroenke as the club’s controlling shareholder but labels its club figure as enterprise value, calculated using May 14, 2026 exchange rates. That valuation is not Kroenke’s net worth. The available compilation also does not establish a reliable league-wide statistical study based on audited personal wealth disclosures.
Ownership changed after some estimates were compiled
Chelsea: Clearlake affiliates took full control
On September 16, 2026, the Associated Press reported that Todd Boehly and Mark Walter sold their interests and that Clearlake affiliates would acquire both, giving Clearlake full control. Clearlake had been Chelsea’s majority owner since 2022, according to the AP report. The roughly £11.9bn figure in the compilation refers to the earlier ownership group; it should not be reassigned to Clearlake as personal wealth.
Rank #2
Liverpool: a minority investment altered the ownership roster
On August 14, 2026, the Associated Press reported that Fenway Sports Group had reached a definitive agreement for a minority investment from 1892 Holdings. The group, led by Amit Bhatia, reportedly acquired a stake above 30% and included Jeff Bezos and Eduardo Saverin. AP attributed personal-wealth estimates of about $280bn for Bezos and $36bn for Saverin to Forbes. Those estimates describe the investors’ personal wealth—not the size of their Liverpool investment, the value of their club stakes or Liverpool’s available transfer funds.
What owner wealth does—and does not—tell a supporter
A large reported fortune does not automatically translate into a club budget. The figures here do not show how much an owner has invested, how much they intend to invest, what financing is available to the club, or what spending is permitted. No direct conversion from owner net worth to transfer spending is established by these estimates.

For any owner-wealth comparison, check five things before drawing a conclusion: whether the number is personal or group wealth; when and in what currency it was estimated; whether it is a point estimate or a range; who controls what share of the club; and whether the figure refers to a person, consortium, investment vehicle, sovereign fund or the club itself. Those distinctions matter especially when transactions happen after the wealth estimate was published.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How current are the estimates?
The all-club compilation draws on a mix of Forbes, the Sunday Times Rich List, Bloomberg and football or business reporting, and describes its figures as approximate. Its underlying material is dated to mid-2026, so the later Chelsea and Liverpool developments show why the ownership date matters. Norton Rose Fulbright’s ownership report offers a season-specific baseline for 2024–25 and clubs promoted for 2025–26, but it is not a current 2026–27 roster.
Even a frequently updated wealth index needs a date check against club transactions. Bloomberg says its Billionaires Index is updated each business day and explains its personal-wealth methodology; its Todd Boehly profile, however, carried a May 18, 2026 timestamp and described him as a Chelsea co-owner, before the later control change reported by AP.
