In October 2000, e2open announced a planned arrangement that would connect buyers using its online marketplace with PartMiner’s electronics-parts catalog and procurement services. The contemporaneous report described a catalog of 12 million parts, a service for hard-to-find components, and a proposed market-maker role when supply and demand did not match. It reported that integration was due to begin that week; it does not establish that the integration was completed or that the relationship continued.
What the October 2000 arrangement was meant to do
Supply & Demand Chain Executive reported on October 10, 2000, that e2open buyers would gain access to PartMiner’s catalog and hard-to-find-parts service. PartMiner was described as a provider of marketplace technology and procurement services. In practical terms, the proposed arrangement combined an online marketplace for business purchasing with specialist component information and sourcing support.
The report attributed this explanation to Mark Holman, then e2open’s president and CEO: “PartMiner delivers content and technology to e2open, which augments our existing technology platform and value proposition.”

What was planned—and what the sources do not establish
The October 2000 article said the companies were to begin integration that week. A separate historical account in a Luleå University of Technology academic document also described a plan to combine PartMiner’s technology, content, and services with e2open offerings. These accounts document the intended combination, but do not establish that integration was completed, how long the relationship lasted, or whether it produced commercial results.
Current e2open pages describe broader supply-management software, including multi-tier supply visibility, direct sourcing and procurement, and automated exchanges among partners. Its partner information describes alliance and reseller relationships that may include implementation and integration. This is present-day company context only: those materials do not verify continuity with the PartMiner arrangement or confirm that the historical marketplace remains available.
