Grand Theft Auto VI Standard Edition is priced at $79.99 in the US; the Ultimate Edition is $99.99. Take-Two announced those prices for the game’s November 19, 2026 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Your local price, taxes and retailer offers may differ.

What does the $20 Ultimate Edition difference buy?
Ultimate costs $20 more than Standard at the announced US prices. That premium buys the Ultimate Edition Upgrade’s in-game content. Rockstar says a Standard owner can also buy the upgrade digitally through the PlayStation or Microsoft storefront after redeeming the game code; its support article does not state a separate upgrade price.
If you are deciding based on the extra content, compare its value to you against the $20 difference. You do not need to choose Ultimate to access the option of upgrading later, though the separate upgrade’s price is not stated by Rockstar.

Is GTA 6 going to cost $100?
The announced US price for the Ultimate Edition is $99.99, just under $100 before any applicable tax. Standard is $79.99. A checkout total can exceed either sticker price if taxes apply, and prices in other currencies or at other retailers may differ.
Digital or physical: what are you buying?
Rockstar’s physical Standard Edition is code-in-box: the package contains a download code, not a disc. Rockstar says there is no physical Ultimate Edition. After redeeming the game code, Standard buyers can purchase the Ultimate upgrade digitally if they want its bonus content.

Rockstar Support said physical copies were expected to be available for shipping or pickup beginning November 12, 2026, ahead of the November 19 release to support preloading. Actual availability depends on retailer stock.
Regional pricing, preorder offers and account region
Local storefronts set the amount you will actually see, so check your platform’s store or a retailer in your country before budgeting. The Rockstar Store displayed €79.99 on October 8, 2026, but that is one regional storefront price, not a country-by-country price list.

According to Rockstar’s support page, digital preorders and purchases of either edition before November 20, 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack; digital preorders also include one month of GTA+. Confirm the current offer and its terms with the storefront before buying.
Rockstar says code redemption is tied to the region associated with your platform account and recommends buying from a retailer in that country to avoid activation problems. Check that the seller’s code region matches your account region.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said the company sets its own prices, while storefronts can set their own retail prices, according to GamesRadar. That does not establish whether or when a retailer will discount GTA 6, or by how much. If launch price matters to your budget, treat a future discount as uncertain rather than counting on one.
Why Take-Two says the price offers value
After Take-Two’s Q1 FY27 financial report, Zelnick defended the $80 US base price in comments reported by TechRadar. He argued that game prices have not kept pace with inflation and said Take-Two aims to deliver more value than it charges. That is the CEO’s view of the game’s value, not an independent measure of what buyers will consider worth the price.
