What is known about the sale and administration?
Begbies Traynor said that Julian Pitts, Kris Wigfield and Paul Stanley were appointed joint administrators of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club Limited and Sheffield 3 Limited on 24 October 2025. Sheffield 3 is the company that owns the stadium, according to the firm’s appointment announcement.
On 2 May 2026, the EFL confirmed that the administrators had concluded an agreement with Arise Capital Partners LLC, a consortium led by David Storch alongside Michael Storch and Tom Costin. The EFL said the club was no longer regarded as being in administration. Begbies Traynor announced completion of the sale on 5 May 2026.
Those announcements confirm the ownership change and its timing, but do not give a case-specific fee for Begbies Traynor.

Why the takeover amount is not the administrators’ fee
“Money from the takeover” can mean several different things: the purchaser’s consideration, money used to keep the club operating, funds available to creditors, or the administrators’ remuneration and expenses. They are separate amounts. A sale price or bid cannot be treated as an administrator fee, and a creditor recovery or the club’s running costs cannot establish that fee either.
Begbies Traynor Group plc’s half-year results for the six months ended 31 October 2025 describe Sheffield Wednesday as a high-profile appointment, but do not quantify what the firm charged for this case. Group revenue or profit is not evidence of the remuneration on an individual appointment.

A reliable figure would need to come from the actual administrator’s proposals, progress report, creditors’ meeting result or final account. It should identify the fee basis, the amount estimated, amounts incurred or paid to date, and expenses. It also matters whether the figure covers Sheffield Wednesday Football Club Limited alone or includes Sheffield 3 Limited.
Until a document supplies that detail, the defensible answer is that Begbies Traynor’s expected or received remuneration for this appointment is not stated in the accessible official sources—not that it equals any reported takeover or creditor figure.
