That was below Nintendo of America’s separately announced $49.99 promotion at select U.S. retailers. These are historical prices: neither source establishes that the $30 offer is available now or that it was the game’s all-time low across every seller and date.
What was the U.S. Black Friday 2024 price?
Nintendo of America announced that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom would be on sale for $49.99 at select Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart locations beginning Nov. 24, 2024. Nintendo described that as $20 off the suggested retail price. Its announcement was a specific promotion, not a guarantee that every store had stock or the same checkout price. Nintendo of America’s 2024 Black Friday announcement.
Walmart had a separate, lower offer reported at $30. A 2024 Black Friday comparison spreadsheet also listed Walmart at $30 and Target at $39.99. The $30 listing was therefore below both Nintendo’s announced $49.99 offer and Target’s listed price, but the available records do not establish a complete market-wide or all-time price history. Was the $30 Walmart deal physical or digital?
GameSpot reported that Walmart’s physical offer sold out and that the retailer substituted a digital version at the same $30 price. The report distinguishes the formats; it does not mean the physical copy remained available after selling out. GameSpot’s report.

Is the $30 price still available?
No current availability is established by the 2024 deal records. Treat $30 as a historical Walmart Black Friday price, not a live offer. A current listing would need to be checked for its price, seller, stock, and whether it is a physical copy or a digital download.
How did the Canadian offer differ?
Nintendo of Canada announced a separate promotion of C$64.99, described as $25 off suggested retail price, at select retailers beginning as early as Nov. 21, 2024. Retailer dates varied and supplies were limited. That is a Canadian-dollar price and should not be compared directly with U.S. dollar offers without accounting for the different market and currency. What is the game, and what systems support it?
Tears of the Kingdom is a Nintendo Switch adventure set in Hyrule and its skies, and a sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Nintendo’s product page lists Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions and says the Switch version is compatible with Nintendo Switch 2; that compatibility statement alone does not establish a particular performance upgrade.
