On those published figures, the Atlanta amount is much higher. But subtracting one from the other would not produce a sound exact increase: the Atlanta number is in US dollars and dates to a 2026 guide, while the Middlesbrough amount is an unverified estimate in pounds for 2024. Without a specified exchange rate and conversion date, the comparison is best expressed qualitatively.
Why Atlanta’s two salary figures differ
The 2026 MLSPA guide lists $3.24 million as annual base salary and $3.736 million as current-year guaranteed compensation. Guaranteed compensation is a separate guide measure; it should not be presented as the base salary or as the total value of every possible bonus or incentive. The guide’s figures describe its salary snapshot, not necessarily what Atlanta pays under a later arrangement.
The difference between guide editions also matters. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported the 2025 guide values as $3,534,546 in base salary and $4,030,546 in guaranteed compensation. Those prior-year figures are not a substitute for the 2026 listing: a salary guide is dated evidence, not a timeless wage quote.

What changed after the 2026 salary guide
Atlanta announced in August 2026 that Latte Lath was loaned to Union Berlin for the 2026–27 season. The club said the German side would take on his full salary, opening a Designated Player spot for Atlanta. Therefore, the $3.736 million figure is the 2026 MLSPA guide’s current-year guaranteed-compensation entry; it is not proof that Atlanta continued paying that amount after the loan began.

Neither figure tells you his take-home pay after tax, or establishes private bonuses and incentives. A transfer fee, if discussed elsewhere, would be a payment between clubs rather than the player’s salary and would not resolve the wage comparison.
