Liverpool topped the Premier League’s 2024/25 central-payment table with £174.9 million; bottom-placed Southampton received £109.2 million. Those totals are not prize money paid solely for league position: they combine equal revenue shares, position-based merit payments, televised-match facility fees and a central commercial payment.
2024/25 Premier League central payments by club
The Premier League published these figures on 1 July 2025. Amounts are in millions of pounds and are rounded to one decimal place as presented by the league. “UK” denotes the domestic broadcast columns in its table. The final column is the total central payment recorded by the Premier League, not each club’s total income.

What “money for final position” means
The merit element rewards the league finish
The Premier League’s explanation of its broadcast distribution says 25% of domestic broadcast revenue is allocated by final league position as merit payments. In the 2024/25 payment table, the UK merit figure ranges from £32.3 million for Liverpool to £1.6 million for Southampton. International merit payments also vary by position, from £20.8 million to £1.0 million.
Other central payments affect the total
The league’s explainer describes the domestic broadcast allocation as 50% shared equally, 25% merit payments and 25% facility fees for televised matches. Its 2016 explanation says international broadcast revenue at existing levels would be shared equally, with future increases distributed according to position subject to a 1.8:1 maximum-to-minimum ratio. That is the broad mechanism described by the league; the 2024/25 payment table is the source for the season’s reported amounts.

In that table, every club is shown with a £29.8 million UK equal share, a £59.2 million international equal share and a £7.9 million central commercial payment. Domestic facility fees vary with live UK television appearances, so the total payment ranking does not exactly follow the final table: Manchester United finished 15th but received £136.2 million, more than several clubs above it.

The totals describe Premier League central payments for 2024/25. They are not a club’s complete annual revenue, profit or cash flow, and they do not combine Premier League distributions with income from UEFA competitions or domestic cups. The league’s 2024/25 annual report says nine clubs qualified for European competitions, including six Champions League places; that qualification is context for the season, not a component listed in this central-payment table.
