Roblox says the median creator who participated in its Developer Exchange (DevEx) program received approximately $1,500 during the 12 months ended June 30, 2026. That figure applies to DevEx participants—not everyone who creates or monetizes a Roblox game—and it is not a promised income. Roblox also reported more than $1.5 billion in creator earnings during 2025, but that platform-wide total does not show what an individual creator is likely to make.
What Roblox’s creator earnings figures show
Roblox’s September 2026 impact report puts the median amount received by DevEx creators at approximately $1,500 for the 12 months ended June 30, 2026. A median is the midpoint: half of the measured participants received more and half received less. It is not an average and does not describe the earnings of every person who builds a Roblox experience or item.
The population and dates matter when reading Roblox’s other figures:
- More than 42,000 DevEx participants: Roblox reported this figure in its September 2026 impact article. Roblox’s impact report gives the later participant count.
- More than $1.5 billion in creator earnings: Roblox says creators earned this total during calendar year 2025. It is an aggregate across creators, not a per-person estimate.
- More than 23,500 DevEx participants: Roblox’s 2025 Form 10-K reports participation during calendar year 2025. This earlier period and reporting context differ from the later September 2026 count.
The available official figures do not establish an earnings distribution for all Roblox creators. They do not show what share of all people who create or monetize earn nothing, fall short of DevEx eligibility, or earn enough to make a full-time living. The $1,500 median should therefore be read specifically as a DevEx-participant figure.

How Roblox creators earn money
Roblox creators can monetize in several ways, and the payout terms depend on the route. Roblox’s monetization overview describes in-game sales and purchases, Creator Rewards, avatar Marketplace items, immersive ads, and sales of models or plugins through the Creator Store.

Creator Rewards have their own conditions
Roblox documents a daily engagement reward of 5 Robux when a qualifying active spender plays an experience for at least 10 minutes. The reward can apply to up to the first three games that user plays that day. Its audience expansion rewards can pay a 35% share of the first $100 in qualifying purchases by a new or reactivated user, subject to attribution and duration rules. An experience must also meet requirements that include an average of at least 100 daily active users (DAU) for 60 days. Check Roblox’s current Creator Rewards documentation for operational details, since program conditions can change.

How Earned Robux converts to cash
For standard DevEx cash-outs, Roblox’s documentation lists an exchange rate of $0.0038 per qualifying Earned Robux—equivalent to $114 for 30,000 Earned Robux. A conditional higher rate of $0.0054 per eligible Earned Robux applies to qualifying in-game purchases by U.S. players verified as at least 18, for eligible games and transaction types. It is not the universal DevEx rate. Roblox’s DevEx documentation describes the rates and eligibility rules.
The rate changed on September 5, 2025, at 10 a.m. PT. Eligible balances earned before that change remain subject to the prior $0.0035-per-Earned-Robux rate until cashed out. Roblox’s current documentation, checked October 8, 2026, lists a minimum of 30,000 Earned Robux to submit a DevEx cash-out request.

Not every Robux balance qualifies
DevEx applies to qualifying Earned Robux, not simply every Robux shown in an account. Roblox excludes examples such as directly purchased Robux, subscription grants, gift-card redemptions, transfers, and certain resale or noncompliant earnings. Roblox decides whether a balance qualifies, and creators must meet the program’s other requirements before requesting payment.

A reported platform payout is not necessarily the amount a creator keeps after taxes. Roblox requires tax information for DevEx and says U.S. backup withholding of 24% may apply when required tax information is missing or a taxpayer identification number (TIN) is invalid. This is withholding, not a calculation of a creator’s final tax liability.
