Ubisoft has not published a definitive lifetime revenue total for the Assassin’s Creed franchise in the official financial releases cited here. A secondary reference page puts the series at around €4 billion in revenue during the decade leading up to 2024, but that figure is not established as an audited all-time total, and its accounting scope is unclear.
What is the reported Assassin’s Creed revenue?
The best available franchise-scale estimate is around €4 billion, attributed to Wikipedia’s Assassin’s Creed reference page. The page describes revenue during the decade leading up to 2024. It does not establish a verified lifetime total from Ubisoft or clarify whether the estimate includes only game sales or also subscriptions, in-game purchases, downloadable content, licensing, or other revenue.
That makes €4 billion a rough, attributed estimate—not an audited figure for everything the games have ever earned. Ubisoft’s official disclosures cited here do not provide a cumulative franchise revenue figure.
What Ubisoft’s published numbers do—and do not—show
| Figure or claim | What it measures | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| €1,899.2 million in FY2024–25 | Ubisoft Entertainment SA’s consolidated IFRS sales for the financial year ended March 31, 2025, across the company. Ubisoft’s consolidated financial statement extracts | Assassin’s Creed revenue or any other individual franchise’s contribution. |
| Second-highest Day 1 sales revenue in series history | Ubisoft’s May 14, 2025 ranking for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, behind Valhalla. Ubisoft also said Shadows set a new Day 1 performance record on the PlayStation digital store. Ubisoft’s FY2024–25 earnings release | A dollar or euro amount, lifetime sales, or a comparison of total revenue across the games. |
| Around 30 million unique active players | Ubisoft’s FY2024–25 figure for Assassin’s Creed on console and PC; the company said the franchise reached this level for the fourth consecutive year. Ubisoft’s FY2024–25 earnings release | Copies sold, paying customers, or revenue. |
| Shadows preorders tracking in line with Odyssey | Ubisoft’s February 13, 2025 update, before Shadows launched. Ubisoft described Odyssey at that time as the franchise’s second most successful entry. Ubisoft’s third-quarter 2024–25 sales update | A preorder count, a revenue figure, or a final performance result for Shadows. |
What the Shadows comparisons mean
Ubisoft said Assassin’s Creed Shadows launched on March 20, 2025, and ranked second behind Valhalla for Day 1 sales revenue in the franchise. Its FY2024–25 report also said Shadows’ performance was “clearly ahead of Assassin’s Creed® Odyssey.” Neither statement gives a title-level revenue amount, so neither can be used to calculate how much Shadows—or the series—made.

- EXPANDING EDWARD’S ADVENTURE- Building on top of the original story, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced introduces exclusive new content. Familiar faces will return, with new storylines dedicated to fan-favorite characters such as Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet. Unexpected allies will also cross your path, as three officers join you on your journey as part of the main narrative. More surprises await, such as new sea shanties, pets, a photo mode, and more.
The preorder comparison with Odyssey is different: it was a company update dated February 13, 2025, before Shadows’ release. A preorder trend at that point is not a final sales figure and should not be treated as one.
Why the figures cannot be added together
- Company sales are not franchise sales. Ubisoft’s €1,899.2 million covers its full business for FY2024–25, not just Assassin’s Creed.
- Players are not buyers. The active-player figure counts activity on console and PC, not copies purchased or the amount spent.
- A ranking is not an amount. “Second-highest Day 1 sales revenue” gives a relative position, not the revenue earned.
- An estimate is not an audited cumulative total. The around-€4-billion claim lacks a verified accounting definition and covers a decade-scale period rather than a clearly established lifetime total.
Bottom line on the franchise’s earnings
The most responsible answer is that the cited secondary source reports around €4 billion in Assassin’s Creed revenue over the decade leading up to 2024, but Ubisoft’s cited official financial releases do not confirm that as a lifetime total or publish a cumulative franchise figure. Official figures show the series’ scale and relative performance, not its total earnings.
