That broader payroll figure includes wages and salaries, employer social security costs and other pension costs; it is not a first-team-only wage bill.
What the weekly estimate includes
Leeds United Football Club Limited reported annual aggregate payroll costs of £102,724,254 for 2024/25. Dividing that annual amount by 52 gives approximately £1.98 million a week. The accounts do not publish a weekly total; this is an average calculated from the annual figure. Leeds United’s 2024/25 accounts, note 7
The payroll covers the employee categories listed by the group, including playing staff, apprentices, football team management, administration and casual matchday staff. It therefore should not be described as the club’s first-team player wages.
Wages and salaries versus total payroll
If “wages” means the accounts’ narrower wages-and-salaries line, the annual figure was £90,806,450, equivalent to about £1.75 million a week when divided by 52. The broader £102,724,254 payroll adds £11,648,886 in social security costs and £268,918 in other pension costs. Leeds United’s 2024/25 accounts, note 7

| Accounts measure | 2024/25 annual amount | Average per week | What it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wages and salaries | £90,806,450 | About £1.75 million | Group employees’ wages and salaries |
| Total aggregate payroll costs | £102,724,254 | About £1.98 million | Wages and salaries, social security costs and other pension costs |
Both weekly values are calculations from the annual accounts for the year ended 30 June 2025, not recurring weekly payments disclosed by Leeds United. Neither isolates player-only pay.
Why the total is not just player wages
The accounts report an average of 1,415 employees in 2024/25: 50 full-time playing staff, 20 apprentices, 40 football team management, 182 management and administration employees, and 1,123 casual matchday staff. The payroll figures relate to the listed group workforce, not only the 50 full-time playing staff. Leeds United’s 2024/25 accounts, note 7

How the figure compares with the previous year
On the same accounting basis, total aggregate payroll costs were £84,030,436 in 2023/24, compared with £102,724,254 in 2024/25. The wages-and-salaries line was £73,952,221 in 2023/24 and £90,806,450 in 2024/25. Comparing like with like matters: total payroll includes employer costs that are not part of the wages-and-salaries line. Leeds United’s accounts, note 7
What this says about current wages
The accounts cover the year ended 30 June 2025. Leeds United’s filing history records the accounts as filed on 12 April 2026, and the club’s corporate page links to them. They do not establish the club’s exact weekly spend in the 2026/27 season or a current first-team-only wage bill. Companies House filing history · Leeds United corporate information

- Match the accounting period: the figures above relate to the year ended 30 June 2025.
- Match the accounting line: compare wages and salaries with the same line elsewhere, or total payroll with total payroll.
- Check the workforce scope: these accounts report group employee costs, not a player-only total.
- Distinguish audited annual accounts from outside estimates and from a weekly average calculated by dividing by 52.
In its report for the year ended 30 June 2025, Leeds United said the group “successfully operated within the EFL’s Financial Fair Play regulations.” That is the club’s statement in the report, rather than a separate measure of weekly player wages. Leeds United’s 2024/25 accounts
