Borussia Dortmund announced on 10 June 2025 that it had signed Bellingham from Sunderland on a five-year deal. BBC Sport described the contract as running through June 2030. Neither report stated his weekly pay. Dortmund’s announcement and BBC Sport’s signing report establish the contract term, not a salary figure.
Why the transfer fee is not his weekly wage
BBC Sport reported that Dortmund agreed to pay an initial €32 million (£26.96 million), with a further €5 million (£4.2 million) in add-ons. Those amounts describe the transfer fee paid in connection with the move; they are not Bellingham’s personal earnings and cannot be converted into a weekly salary.
Sunderland described the permanent transfer as a club-record fee and said the agreement included a sell-on clause, but its announcement did not disclose the fee amount. Sunderland’s announcement confirms those terms without stating Bellingham’s pay.

What his Sunderland season tells us—and what it doesn’t
Bellingham made 43 appearances for Sunderland during its 2024–25 promotion-winning campaign and was named EFL Championship Young Player of the Season, according to Sunderland AFC. That provides context for his move, but it does not establish his Dortmund salary.
Dortmund’s managing director for sport, Lars Ricken, said the club saw Bellingham as a talented young player suited to its approach of developing prospects. The club’s statement described its sporting view of the signing, not the financial terms of his contract.
