Emirates does not publish one standard cash price for upgrading to First Class. The price and whether you can upgrade depend on your specific booking and seat availability. To see your cash offer, enter your booking details on Emirates’ Manage Your Booking upgrade page. If you have Skywards Miles, check that same booking for an eligible Miles upgrade and its required Miles.
How to find your Emirates First Class upgrade price
- Open Emirates’ upgrade page and enter your booking details to see whether a cash upgrade is offered and what it costs.
- Check whether the booking is eligible for an upgrade using Skywards Miles, and note the Miles required.
- Review any taxes or other charges shown before you complete the transaction. Emirates says some countries levy additional charges when you travel in a higher cabin, and these are disclosed during the upgrade process. See its Skywards FAQ on charges.
There is no reliable universal dollar figure or fixed cash value for an upgrade Mile. Compare the cash offer with the Miles requirement for your own booking, including any cash charges shown in the transaction.
What affects eligibility and timing?
Your fare brand, flight, available seats and the upgrade rules for the booking determine whether an upgrade is possible. Emirates’ Skywards FAQs describe these fare-brand rules:
- Special: Not eligible for upgrades under the cited Emirates Skywards FAQ.
- Saver: Upgrade requests are limited to online check-in, between 48 and six hours before departure.
- Flex and Flex Plus: May be eligible for online upgrades earlier, up to six hours before departure, if seats are available.
The Miles required also vary by fare brand. Eligible requests may be made through Manage Your Booking, online check-in, an Emirates contact centre, or at the airport or onboard, subject to the booking’s fare rules, timing and availability. An upgrade reward is not guaranteed just because a booking meets the fare-brand conditions.

Are promotional Miles upgrade offers different?
Yes. Emirates’ Miles Upgrade offer terms describe promotional offers with separate conditions. Eligibility may be limited by flight, cabin, fare brand or travel date; booking online while logged in may be required, and exclusions can apply. Offers can change, and availability is not guaranteed until the transaction is processed. Check the terms and the offer displayed for your booking rather than assuming a promotion applies to every itinerary.
How to decide between paying cash and using Miles
Use the cash offer and Miles requirement shown for the same booking as your comparison. Add any cash charges displayed in the upgrade flow, then decide whether the cash amount or the Miles redemption better suits your budget and plans. Since Emirates does not publish a universal cash upgrade price or a fixed cash value for upgrade Miles, an estimate based on another passenger’s itinerary may not apply to yours.
