There is no single price to charter a private jet. PrivJet publishes indicative rates from €1,900 to €15,000 per block hour, depending on aircraft class, but those figures are not a trip total or a standard market tariff. The final written quote depends on the route, schedule, aircraft availability, positioning and fees.
Indicative private-jet charter rates by aircraft class
PrivJet’s calculator gives the following approximate hourly ranges. They are provider-published planning guidance, not independently audited market averages; the calculator page does not state a publication year and was accessed in 2026.
| Aircraft class | Indicative rate |
|---|---|
| Pilatus PC-12 | €1,900–2,800 per block hour |
| Light jet | €3,200–4,500 per block hour |
| Midsize jet | €4,500–6,000 per block hour |
| Ultra-long-range jet | €11,000–15,000 per block hour |
PrivJet’s calculator notes that actual rates can vary with aircraft availability, season, the location of the nearest available aircraft, aircraft age and cabin, and airport fees. The figures are hourly class ranges, not a way to calculate a reliable total without a route and schedule.
What determines the total quote?
A charter quote prices a specific aircraft and mission, not just time in the air. Factors that may change the price include:

- Aircraft and mission fit: The passenger and baggage load, required range, cabin preferences and flight time affect which aircraft can serve the trip.
- Positioning: If the nearest suitable aircraft is elsewhere, the provider may charge for ferry or repositioning time.
- Date and availability: Season and aircraft availability can affect which aircraft is offered and its price.
- Fuel treatment: A provider may build fuel costs into the hourly rate or list a surcharge; ask which applies to the quote.
- Airport and handling charges: These may affect the total and may be included in, or billed separately from, a headline rate.
- Schedule and service requirements: Depending on the flight, catering, de-icing, waiting time, crew duty extensions, overnight costs, taxes or international permits may apply.
Pricing guides describe these as possible components, not charges that necessarily apply to every trip. Ask the provider to identify applicable costs in writing rather than assuming a headline rate includes them.
How to compare charter quotes
Ask providers to quote the same itinerary and requirements. Otherwise, a lower headline rate may simply reflect a different aircraft, schedule or set of included services.

- Provide each provider with the same route, travel dates, departure and return times, passenger count, baggage needs and service requests.
- Ask for the aircraft class and model, and confirm that it meets your capacity and range needs.
- Request the total price and payment schedule, with positioning and the aircraft-time basis identified.
- Ask whether fuel, taxes, landing and handling charges, catering, de-icing, waiting or overnight time, and crew costs are included or billed separately.
- Read the cancellation, aircraft-substitution and schedule-change terms before paying.
Written quotes let you compare the same trip assumptions and see what each provider includes. A headline hourly figure alone does not establish the final bill.
Can an empty-leg flight cost less?
An empty leg is a repositioning flight that would otherwise travel without passengers. A provider may offer it at a lower price if your route and timing match the available aircraft movement. It is a conditional option, not a guaranteed discount or a dependable way to travel on a fixed schedule.
