How to read Anthony Joshua’s reported purse history
The figures below are estimates published by Salary Sport and The Times of India, not official contract disclosures or audited payments. Both publish enough bout estimates to make a top-ten list, but they disagree on several amounts and do not establish a consistent methodology. Sporting News provides additional estimates for selected earlier fights and the Ruiz rematch.

The ranking follows The Times of India’s 2026 list, which names ten bouts and says the estimates total $275 million. Salary Sport’s figures are shown alongside where that site lists the bout. Amounts are reported in US dollars unless the table explicitly gives pounds; Sporting News supplied its own pound-to-dollar equivalents. Results are included for context, not as evidence of what Joshua was paid.

Why estimates for the same fight diverge
Ruiz I and Ruiz II have especially large gaps
The first Ruiz fight illustrates why a single ranked figure can mislead: estimates span $24.5 million from Sporting News, $24.8 million from The Times of India, and $88.5 million from Salary Sport. For the rematch, the published estimates range from $32 million at Salary Sport to about £66 million ($81 million) at Sporting News, with The Times of India at $57.5 million. The sources do not provide a common calculation method that would explain or reconcile these differences.
Other bouts still do not form a uniform series
For the 2022 Usyk rematch, estimates are $40.6 million and $44 million from The Times of India and Salary Sport. For the 2024 Ngannou bout, both list $50 million. Those points of agreement do not establish that the amounts were disclosed or independently verified; agreement between estimates is not the same as confirmation.

Where the 2025 Jake Paul fight fits
Joshua stopped Jake Paul in the sixth round on December 19, 2025, according to the Associated Press. Before the fight, Sporting News said the purse had not been confirmed. It reported claims of at least $184 million combined and Paul’s claim of $267 million, while Joshua said the bout would not be his career-high payout. Salary Sport later listed $50 million for Joshua, but that remains an estimate, not a disclosed final payment. Sporting News also reported estimated paydays of about £3 million ($3.7 million) for Dillian Whyte and £5 million ($6.1 million) for Charles Martin. They are smaller than the ten estimates in The Times of India’s list. These are still reported estimates, rather than official disclosures.

In April 2024, Joshua promoter Eddie Hearn said a hypothetical Tyson Fury–Joshua fight could mean “north of £100million for each guy.” That was a forecast about a possible future bout, not earnings Joshua had received. It should not be counted among his historical fight purses. Source: Sky Sports.
