How Much Do Michael Jackson’s Kids Get a Month? What the Records Show

The widely repeated $60,000 monthly figure was the combined allowance for all three children in 2009, not a current per-child payment. Later reports describe annual benefits and expenses, not a verified monthly cash rate.

There is no verified current fixed monthly payment for each of Michael Jackson’s three children. The often-cited $60,000 a month was the combined child allowance in a court-approved 2009 support arrangement—not $60,000 per child, and not an established current rate. The latest located accounting report, published October 6, 2026, describes benefits for 2024 but does not state a recurring monthly cash allowance.

What does the $60,000 figure actually mean?

In September 2009, CBS News reported, citing court records, that the court had approved monthly support of $26,804 for Katherine Jackson and $60,000 collectively for the children. The $60,000 covered all three children as a group; it was not a per-child amount. CBS News reported the court-approved stipend on September 17, 2009.

The Los Angeles Times likewise described more than $86,000 in combined monthly support for Katherine and the children, and reported that housing and property expenses were separately paid by the estate. That distinction matters: the total support arrangement was not simply cash handed to the children. The Times’ September 18, 2009 report described the allowance and separate estate-paid costs.

What do later estate reports say about each child?

Later accounting reports describe individual annual allowances or broader benefit totals, not a uniform monthly payment. The figures also cover different years and categories, so they should not be treated as directly comparable monthly cash amounts.

Report and period Reported amount What the figure represents
Us Weekly report on a 2021 accounting, published in 2025 Paris: more than $3 million; Prince: $2,128,511.38; Bigi: $1,053,085.99 Reported annual allowance payments for 2021, alongside other bills and expenses covered by the estate. These are historical accounting figures, not current monthly rates. Us Weekly’s report.
TMZ report on the estate’s 2024 accounting, published October 6, 2026 Paris: approximately $6.3 million; Prince: approximately $6.4 million; Bigi: approximately $3.1 million Reported benefits and expenses, including items such as taxes, legal fees, housing repairs, association fees, and other bills. TMZ does not identify these totals as monthly cash allowances. TMZ’s October 6, 2026 report.

The 2024 figures are reported by TMZ as totals of benefits and expenses, not as money deposited into each child’s account. Dividing them by twelve would create a monthly average that the report does not establish as a payment schedule or cash allowance.

How are the allowance, estate, and trust connected?

Michael Jackson’s will directs estate assets to the Michael Jackson Family Trust. A 2024 California Court of Appeal opinion identifies the three children and unnamed charities as principal trust beneficiaries, and Katherine Jackson as a life beneficiary of a separate sub-trust for her care and support. The opinion said that, as of its 2024 decision, “no estate assets have been distributed to the trust because of a tax dispute with the IRS and other litigation.” That statement describes the situation at the time of the opinion, not the estate’s status in 2026. A separate 2024 report on court filings said the executors argued that trust distributions could not be made while tax and other legal matters remained unresolved, while family support continued through a family allowance. Entertainment Tonight’s report on the filings describes that distinction.

These terms refer to different things: a family allowance is support paid during estate administration; annual benefits can include allowances as well as costs paid on someone’s behalf; and trust principal or trust distributions concern assets transferred or paid under the trust. The Court of Appeal said the will gives executors broad powers to manage estate property during probate and provides for transfer of the property to the trust when probate ends. That ruling addressed authority over estate assets, not a monthly amount for any beneficiary. The court’s opinion explains the executors’ role and the planned transfer.

What can readers conclude about a current monthly payment?

  • The $60,000 figure was a collective monthly allowance for the three children in the 2009 court-approved arrangement.
  • Later reports provide annual or period-specific amounts, including expenses, rather than a verified current recurring monthly cash figure for each child.
  • The latest located report, published in October 2026 about 2024 benefits, does not disclose a fixed monthly payment or establish when those benefits were paid.

Accordingly, any precise claim that one child currently receives a particular amount each month goes beyond what these reported figures establish.
