Tim Cook’s reported total compensation for Apple’s fiscal 2025 was $74,294,811, according to the company’s 2026 proxy statement. Apple’s fiscal year ended September 27, 2025, so these are fiscal-year figures—not calendar-year pay or a statement of when the compensation was paid. The total includes stock awards valued at grant, and is not the same as cash received.

Apple executives’ reported compensation in fiscal 2025

Apple’s Summary Compensation Table lists six named executive officers for fiscal 2025. They are the officers identified in the proxy filing, not every executive at Apple. Kevan Parekh and Sabih Khan joined the named-officer group for the first time in 2025 following leadership transitions.

Named executive officer Role in Apple’s proxy Fiscal 2025 total compensation
Tim Cook Chief Executive Officer $74,294,811
Kevan Parekh Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer $22,467,309
Kate Adams Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary $27,032,248
Sabih Khan Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer $27,031,671
Luca Maestri Former Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer $15,482,928
Deirdre O’Brien Senior Vice President, Retail + People $27,047,633

All totals are from Apple’s 2026 proxy statement and refer to fiscal 2025. They reflect the filing’s compensation-table definition, rather than a measure of cash deposited into an executive’s account.

What makes up Tim Cook’s $74.3 million total?

Apple reports Cook’s fiscal 2025 total as four compensation categories. The stock-award figure is grant-date fair value for accounting purposes; it does not mean Cook received that amount in cash or sold shares worth that amount during the year.

Compensation category Fiscal 2025 amount
Salary $3,000,000
Stock awards $57,535,293
Non-equity incentive plan compensation $12,000,000
All other compensation $1,759,518
Total $74,294,811

The total was down from $74,609,802 in fiscal 2024, as shown in Apple’s 2026 proxy statement. Comparing the totals does not by itself show how much cash Cook received or the value of stock he ultimately realized.

Why Apple reports three different figures for Cook

Several numbers in Apple’s proxy can look like competing answers to “How much did Tim Cook make?” They use different definitions and should not be substituted for one another.

  • $59 million target compensation: Apple’s stated fiscal 2025 target opportunity for Cook, made up of a $3 million base salary, a $6 million target cash incentive opportunity and a $50 million target equity award. It is a target, not the Summary Compensation Table total.
  • $74,294,811 Summary Compensation Table total: The total of salary, stock awards, non-equity incentive compensation and other compensation reported for fiscal 2025. Stock awards are included at grant-date fair value.
  • $108,423,733 “Compensation Actually Paid”: Apple’s fiscal 2025 figure calculated under SEC pay-versus-performance rules. Apple cautions that “Compensation Actually Paid does not represent cash or equity value realized or paid to our named executive officers (“NEOs”) but rather is a value calculated under applicable SEC rules.” It is not take-home pay.

The $59 million target and $108,423,733 SEC-defined amount are reported in Apple’s 2026 proxy statement; their different meanings explain why neither matches the table total.

How Apple’s executive pay plan works

Apple describes three main elements in its executive compensation program: base salary, annual cash incentives and long-term equity awards. The cash incentive plan for fiscal 2025 was tied to net sales and operating income. Apple said it exceeded the maximum goals for both measures, resulting in maximum cash-plan payouts for named executive officers.

Long-term performance-based restricted stock units use a separate measure: Apple’s total shareholder return relative to S&P 500 companies over a three-year performance period. Awards that vested in 2025 from a 2022 grant period reflected relative total shareholder return at the 81.20th percentile and vested at 187% of target. That vesting result concerns the 2022 grant period, not the fiscal 2025 cash incentive plan.

What Apple’s CEO-to-employee pay ratio means

Apple reported median employee compensation of $139,483 for fiscal 2025 and a CEO-to-median-employee compensation ratio of 533 to 1. The company notes that SEC rules allow exclusions, estimates and different methodologies when companies calculate this ratio, so it is not necessarily comparable across employers.

How shareholders voted on Apple’s executive pay

At Apple’s 2025 Annual Meeting, 92% of votes cast on the advisory Say on Pay proposal supported the executive compensation program. This records shareholder support in a nonbinding advisory vote; it does not independently establish that the pay level is fair or appropriate.
