| Cast members | Earlier reported fee | Seasons 11–12 reported fee | What the reports said |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar | About $1 million per episode for Seasons 8–10 | About $900,000 per episode | In 2017, reports said each accepted a reduction of about $100,000 per episode. CBS News, attributing its account to Variety, covered the reported cuts; TVLine reported the earlier fees and proposed reductions, and E! News reported the approximately $900,000 rate. |
| Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch | About $200,000 per episode before the negotiations | About $500,000 per episode each in later 2017 reporting | Coverage differed on the final amount: some accounts described them moving toward about $450,000, while later reports cited deals at about $500,000 each. TVLine reported the earlier figure and proposed changes; E! News reported about $500,000 each. |
Why the reported rates changed
Reports in 2017 said the five higher-paid original stars agreed to reduce their per-episode fees by about $100,000 to help make room for raises for Bialik and Rauch. The reported reductions brought the five stars’ fees to about $900,000 per episode for the next two seasons. Accounts of Bialik and Rauch’s resulting deals were not uniform: some coverage cited roughly $450,000, while later reporting put each at roughly $500,000. Because the contracts were private, the published figures should be treated as estimates reported by entertainment outlets rather than confirmed terms.

What these figures do—and don’t—tell you
- They are not a rate for every season. The widely repeated $1 million figure applied to the five original stars during the reported Seasons 8–10 period, not to the full run or every cast member.
- They are per-episode figures, not complete earnings totals. The reports do not establish total career earnings from the show, other compensation, or take-home pay after taxes and expenses.
- They are not a complete payroll disclosure. No publicly available contract or verified, complete cast payroll list is established by these reports.
- Annual income rankings measure something different. Forbes-based yearly estimates can include endorsements and other work, not just a television salary. TIME’s account of the 2018 estimates explains that distinction: TIME.
