What did a Concorde ticket cost in 2003?
Several published figures describe transatlantic travel in Concorde’s final year, but they are not identical fare quotes:

The £6,636, £8,000 and £6,499 figures should not be treated as one definitive price. They come from different sources and descriptions; the available information does not explain the precise fare-basis differences. The BA promotional fares had restrictions, including a Saturday-night stay and no changes or refunds. What did Concorde cost before its final years?
A contemporary 1986 Washington Post travel report gives a one-way fare example of $2,148. It is evidence of the high cost of flying Concorde well before 2003, but the report does not establish enough ticket-condition detail to make that price universal across routes or dates.

Why do the reported fares differ?
A Concorde fare comparison only makes sense when the itinerary and ticket terms match. Check these details before comparing prices:
- One-way or return: the 1986 example is one-way; the late-service examples above are return or round-trip prices.
- Route and airline: the £6,636 figure is specifically London–New York; other sources describe transatlantic travel more broadly.
- Standard or promotional fare: BA’s £6,499 starting price was a promotion with restrictions.
- All-Concorde or mixed itinerary: BA’s £3,499 offer included a World Traveller leg, so it was not an all-Concorde return.
- Currency and conversion year: the CRS’s dollar equivalent is expressed in 2017 dollars, not current dollars.
Were Concorde’s operating costs the same as its ticket prices?
No. A 1976 Congressional Record entry reported projected transatlantic operating costs of 11.76 cents per seat-mile for Air France and 12.07 cents per seat-mile for British Airways. These are projected airline operating costs, not amounts passengers paid for tickets. The figures appear in the 1976 Congressional Record.

For a simple, clearly attributed answer near the end of Concorde service, use £6,636 for a standard London–New York return in 2003, as reported by National Museums Scotland. Other documented 2003 prices include the CRS’s £8,000 round-trip figure and BA’s restricted promotion starting at £6,499; the £3,499 BA offer mixed a Concorde leg with a conventional-cabin leg. Concorde was a premium supersonic passenger service operated by British Airways and Air France; BA’s service ran from 1976 to 2003.
