Public pay references list hourly rates that vary by seat, aircraft and longevity. A career-information source published in 2025 shows year-one first-officer rates of $78 to $81 per hour and year-one captain rates of $227 to $268; its year-15 rates range from $203 to $230 for first officers and $280 to $325 for captains. These are indicative figures from a secondary table, not a verified official 2025 wage schedule, and they are not annual salary amounts.
What FedEx Express pilot pay looked like in 2025
In 2025, FedEx Express pilots were still working under the collective bargaining agreement signed November 2, 2015, according to the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA). ALPA reported on May 5, 2025 that a 2023 tentative agreement had been rejected by pilots, who cited concerns including scope provisions, economic shortfalls and quality-of-life concessions. Pay and retirement remained among the union’s bargaining priorities. ALPA’s May 5, 2025 update provides that context.
The available public pay table was published by a career-information source in 2025, but it does not identify a specific effective date or bid period. Treat its figures as a reference for the published scale—not as confirmation of the official rate in force on a particular date in 2025. The FedEx Express pay table separates rates by seat, aircraft and longevity.
Published hourly rates by seat and longevity
The table below reproduces the source’s year-one and year-15 hourly figures. “Larger listed aircraft” describes the table’s other aircraft category; the source table should be consulted for its aircraft-specific entries. The figures are hourly rates, not annual salaries.

| Seat | Aircraft category | Year one | Year 15 |
|---|---|---|---|
| First officer | 737/757 | $78 per hour | $203 per hour |
| First officer | Larger listed aircraft | $81 per hour | $230 per hour |
| Captain | 737/757 | $227 per hour | $280 per hour |
| Captain | Larger listed aircraft | $268 per hour | $325 per hour |
These are the endpoint rates identified in the secondary table, not a complete schedule for every longevity step. For a like-for-like comparison, hold both aircraft and longevity constant: the table’s captain rate is higher than its first-officer rate in each of the listed endpoint comparisons.
Why hourly rates are not annual salaries
An hourly scale rate does not say how much an individual pilot earned over a year. Annual earnings depend on credited hours and applicable contract pay provisions, among other factors. The cited table does not supply a verified annual earnings figure, a pilot’s credited hours, or an assumption that could support converting the hourly rates into a guaranteed salary. No independently published average or median annual earnings figure for FedEx Express pilots in 2025 was established in the cited sources.

What changed after 2025
The old-agreement context is specific to 2025. ALPA reported that pilots ratified a new agreement on June 9, 2026, which took effect June 29, 2026. ALPA said 83% voted in favor and 98.5% of eligible pilots participated. ALPA’s ratification announcement describes the vote and effective date; FedEx also announced ratification and said the agreement covered 5,000 pilots. FedEx’s announcement gives the company’s figure.
ALPA’s 2026 compensation summary lists a 39.76% increase for the July 2026 bid period and later scheduled 3% increases. Those are post-2025 figures, not a basis for revising or estimating the 2025 rates. The ALPA compensation summary distinguishes later rates by seat and aircraft.
