Drake reportedly wagered $565,000 on Tyson Fury to beat Oleksandr Usyk, with a potential return of slightly more than $1 million if Fury won. Usyk won the May 18, 2024, fight by split decision, so the reported bet lost.
What was Drake’s reported bet?
HipHopDX reported that Drake posted the wager to his Instagram story on May 17, 2024, the day before the fight. The report named Stake as the platform and Fury as Drake’s pick. It put the stake at $565,000 and said a Fury victory would have brought a potential payout of slightly more than $1 million. That figure was a reported possible return, not evidence of a payment.
Sports Illustrated also reported the wager and loss, attributing the details to Drake’s Instagram story. The available reports do not independently authenticate the original betting slip or provide a sportsbook record, so the amount, selection, platform and potential payout should be understood as reported claims, not independently confirmed transaction details. The bout was for the undisputed heavyweight championship. The BBC described Usyk as the first undisputed heavyweight world champion in the four-belt era.
