There is no reliable monthly Pinterest view count that guarantees $500. Pinterest views are not a fixed-rate payout: creators generally earn through a website, an affiliate program, or a brand deal, and each route depends on actions and payment terms beyond the view itself.
Why Pinterest views do not translate directly into $500
A Pinterest impression means a Pin was shown; it does not establish that someone clicked, visited a monetized page, bought a product, or generated a brand payment. Pinterest describes affiliate links and brand partnerships as external monetization arrangements and says it does not facilitate those payments. The terms come from the relevant affiliate program, merchant, ad provider, or brand.
That makes monthly views an incomplete starting point. For a useful estimate, trace what happens after a Pin is shown and use your own account and earnings data. Pinterest does not publish a universal creator earnings-per-view rate, typical outbound click rate, affiliate conversion rate, or sponsorship fee.
Estimate $500 using the monetization route you use
| Route | What must happen after a Pin view | Inputs to use | Who sets payment terms |
|---|---|---|---|
| Website ads | A person clicks through; the visit produces monetized page views. | Your Pinterest-referred monetized page views and actual ad-network page RPM. | Your ad provider. |
| Affiliate sales | A person clicks an affiliate link and makes a qualifying purchase. | Affiliate link clicks, your observed purchase conversion rate, and average commission per qualifying order. | The external affiliate program or merchant. |
| Brand partnership | You complete the contracted campaign deliverables. | The fee and deliverables in an actual agreement. | You and the brand or partner. |
Website advertising
Estimate monthly ad income as:
Pinterest-referred monetized page views × your actual page RPM ÷ 1,000
#1 Best Overall
Use the page RPM reported by your ad provider for the relevant period and geography, not a generic online benchmark. If you only have Pinterest impressions, first apply your own measured outbound click rate to estimate visits, then account for page views per visit and for the share of visits that actually produce monetized page views. Each extra step makes the estimate more dependent on your own data.
Affiliate commissions
Estimate commissions as:
Affiliate link clicks × your observed purchase conversion rate × average commission per qualifying purchase
Rank #2
For example, if you are modeling this route without historical results, label every input as hypothetical. A change in purchase conversion or commission changes the result; an impression count alone cannot tell you either value. Pinterest’s June 6, 2025 creator guide says creators must join an affiliate program and names Rakuten, LTK, Shop Style, and Amazon Associates US as official partners. Commission terms are set by the external program or merchant, so check current availability, eligibility, and terms for your location.
Brand partnerships
Monthly impressions cannot establish what a brand will pay. Income depends on negotiated work and the fee and deliverables in the agreement. Pinterest says it does not facilitate payment for brand partnerships; creators arrange terms and logistics with the brand or partner.

Work backward from $500 with your own numbers
- Choose the route. Decide whether the target is website ad income, affiliate commissions, or a contracted partnership. Do not combine unlike routes into a single view-to-dollar rate.
- Use the matching downstream metric. For ads, pull Pinterest-referred monetized page views and actual page RPM from the same reporting period. For affiliates, pull link clicks, qualifying purchases, and commissions. For sponsorships, use an agreed fee and deliverables.
- Calculate or model the gap. Apply the relevant formula above to estimate current income, then compare that result with $500. If you do not yet have an input, treat any assumption as a scenario—not a Pinterest rate or a forecast.
- Only then estimate the views needed. Use your own measured relationship between impressions and the downstream metric that earns money. Recalculate when your audience, Pin performance, monetization setup, or reporting period changes.
For instance, a site-ad estimate can be worked backward by dividing $500 by your actual page RPM and multiplying by 1,000 to find the monetized page views needed. To turn that into a Pinterest view estimate, you would still need your own measured outbound-click rate and page views per visit. Without those account-specific inputs, a monthly view target would be guesswork.
Follow Pinterest’s rules when using affiliate links
Pinterest’s commercial and branded content policy, last updated in April 2025, says affiliate content should be original, add unique value, and be transparent about its commercial nature and links. It also says affiliate Pins should be used in moderation under the platform’s spam policy. Treat disclosure and original content as part of the monetization plan, not as an afterthought.

Pinterest announced Amazon Storefront linking on June 10, 2026. Its announcement says eligible creators who connect a Storefront can have affiliate information automatically applied when tagging an eligible Amazon product. Eligibility and product requirements matter; the feature does not imply universal access or a guaranteed commission.

Pinterest reported global average revenue per user (ARPU) of $7.21 for 2025. That is a company metric: Pinterest defines ARPU as its revenue divided by average monthly active users within a geography, and says monetization differs by geography. It is not creator earnings per view, a Pin payout, or a rate to multiply by your monthly impressions.

Pinterest announced a $20 million investment in Creator Rewards and other creator initiatives in 2021 and described Creator Rewards as tied to engagement goals. That historical announcement does not establish that a view-based payment program is currently open or that creators are paid a set amount per view.
