Luke Toki said the GoFundMe donations helped his family pay off their mortgage. He also said he kept working and gave money to charity. Public reporting does not provide a complete accounting of the funds or confirm the exact amount the family ultimately received.

What Luke Toki said the donations paid for

After his 2019 run on Australian Survivor, a fan-organized GoFundMe campaign raised money for Toki and his family. Toki told The West Australian that the money allowed him to pay off the family’s mortgage. He described becoming a homeowner as a major change in the family’s financial position.

Toki also said he continued going to work and keeping his normal routine. In the interview, he said he had a good job he expected to hold on to. The donations, in other words, did not mean he stopped working.

Charitable giving and the amount above the goal

Toki named Telethon, Perth Children’s Hospital and cystic fibrosis among the causes he had donated to, and said he still had money to give. Separately, WHO reported that Luke and Mary Toki decided to donate to charity the amount raised above the campaign’s $500,000 goal. The available reporting does not itemize that excess, give donation amounts, or provide a complete list of recipients.

What the fundraiser raised—and what that figure means

The fundraiser was organized by Dave Skow for Luke and Mary Toki after Luke’s 2019 Australian Survivor appearance. Its $500,000 AUD target matched the show’s prize, according to Mediaweek’s 2019 report.

These are campaign figures, not proof of the amount transferred to the family or the amount they kept. The current GoFundMe display is a live page total and may change; it is not a verified net payout. The dated 2019 figure is likewise only what the page showed at that time.

What is not publicly accounted for

The available sources establish the mortgage payoff, continued employment and examples of charitable giving, but they do not disclose a full final accounting. They do not verify the exact amount transferred to the family, the total donated to charity, or every recipient. It would therefore be inaccurate to describe the fundraiser’s displayed total as the family’s take-home amount or to treat the named charities as a complete list.
