You can earn Amazon gift cards through Amazon Shopper Panel, rewards platforms such as Swagbucks, or Amazon Trade-In. Each has a catch: you may share receipt or survey data, spend time on activities, or exchange an item you already own. Availability and rewards vary, so “free” does not mean guaranteed money or a predictable hourly return.

Earn rewards with Amazon Shopper Panel
Amazon Shopper Panel is an opt-in, invitation-only program. Amazon says participation is limited to certain customers aged 18 or older in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Spain, and Japan. An invitation may be required, and people who cannot join because space is full may be waitlisted. Participants can choose among available activities and do not have to complete every type.
Share eligible receipts
Amazon’s US program page says participants may earn up to $10 per month for sharing eligible receipts. The cap applies to receipt rewards: submitting more receipts does not raise the monthly maximum. Amazon receipts are excluded. Eligible receipts generally need to show the retailer, date, total, and itemized purchase information, and they must be submitted by the monthly deadline. Complete surveys and choose a reward
Survey rewards vary by survey, and the panel shows the amount before you decide whether to complete it. Participants choose one monthly reward type: Amazon Balance or a charitable donation. Amazon says monthly rewards are issued within the first 48 hours of the following month. Its program FAQ explains the current reward process.
Consider the data you share
Receipt sharing provides purchase information; surveys provide your responses. Some invited participants may also opt in to ad verification, which involves sharing ad-related information. Amazon describes the information it receives as information participants explicitly choose to share and says participation is voluntary. You can stop participating; the program page also describes deleting shared data and opting out. Review those controls before joining if you are not comfortable sharing this information.

Use a rewards platform such as Swagbucks
Swagbucks lists Amazon gift cards as a points redemption and describes surveys, shopping, deals, games, and other activities as ways to earn points. Its Amazon rewards page displays available denominations and point costs, which may change. A listing does not mean every user will see or qualify for every survey or offer, or earn a predictable amount.
Reward redemption eligibility is not worldwide. Check the Swagbucks eligibility information and current terms for your country and age before investing time.

Trade in an item you already own
Amazon Trade-In can turn an eligible item into Amazon.com Gift Card value. Amazon’s Trade-In terms say accepted items are purchased and paid for with gift cards, subject to the program terms and adjustments. Acceptance and value depend on the item and its condition, so check the live offer before sending anything. Trading in something already yours is different from buying goods to trade them; the available terms do not establish that buying an item for resale through Trade-In will be profitable.

Be wary of unsolicited offers that sound too good to be true, urgent demands, or anyone who asks you to pay a fee with a gift card or disclose its claim code. Amazon warns: “DO NOT pay people or businesses with Gift Cards.” Never share a claim code with a stranger. Read Amazon’s Common Gift Card Scams guidance if an offer or payment request seems suspicious.

Choose the option that fits what you are willing to give
- Choose Shopper Panel if it is available to you and you are comfortable sharing eligible purchase or survey information for a capped receipt reward and variable survey rewards.
- Consider Swagbucks if you are willing to spend time on activities and accept that point value, offers, and eligibility vary.
- Use Trade-In if you have an item you are ready to exchange and the current offer is worthwhile to you.
