Public records and club biographies describe how some Cardiff City and Swansea City owners built their business careers, but they do not establish a reliable personal fortune for each person. Cardiff’s majority shareholder, Vincent Tan, has interests across a broad range of industries; Swansea’s current controlling investors include fintech and business operators. The stakes and funding commitments disclosed by the clubs are not personal net-worth figures.
Who owns Cardiff City and Swansea City?
The two clubs disclose ownership differently, and their percentages refer to shares in club holding companies—not to an owner’s personal wealth. Cardiff’s company records identify Vincent Tan as the active person with significant control of Cardiff City Football Club (Holdings) Limited, with ownership of 75% or more of its shares. Cardiff City also lists Tan as its majority shareholder.
Swansea City is a wholly owned subsidiary of Swansea City Football 2002 Limited. The club’s ownership statement gives the following stakes in that ultimate holding company:
| Club or shareholder | Disclosed position | What the figure describes |
|---|---|---|
| Vincent Tan, Cardiff City | 75% or more | Companies House person-with-significant-control entry for Cardiff City Football Club (Holdings) Limited; current record accessed in 2026. |
| Swansea Football LLC, controlled by Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen | 71.18% | Stake in Swansea City Football 2002 Limited, according to Swansea City’s ownership statement retrieved in 2026. |
| Nigel Morris, Swansea City | 12.9% | Stake in Swansea City Football 2002 Limited, according to the same club statement. |
| Swansea City Supporters Society Ltd | 6.98%, including a protected 5.00% position | Stake in Swansea City Football 2002 Limited, according to the same club statement. |
These percentages show control or investment in the clubs’ holding structures. They do not show the market value of those shares, what an individual paid for them, how much cash the owner has, or the person’s total assets minus liabilities.

Vincent Tan: a diversified business portfolio
Berjaya’s company-published profile describes Tan as an entrepreneur with more than four decades of business experience. It lists interests across property development and investment; gaming and lottery management; stockbroking; motor distribution; retail and trading; hospitality; internet-related businesses; environmental and utility businesses; media; food and beverage; telecommunications; insurance; and education.
The profile names businesses and groups including Berjaya Corporation, Berjaya Assets, 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings, Berjaya Media, Berjaya Retail, Intan Utilities, U Mobile, and MOL Ventures. Taken together, this supports describing Tan’s business interests as diversified rather than attributing his wealth to a single company or industry. The profile does not say that Tan personally founded every business it names, nor does it calculate how much he earned from any of them.
Cardiff’s majority-shareholder listing and the Companies House control entry establish his position at the club. They do not provide a valuation of his Cardiff stake or a verified current estimate of his personal net worth.
Mehmet Dalman: a finance career, not the majority shareholder
Cardiff appointed Mehmet Dalman chairman in 2013. In its appointment announcement, the club described him as an investment banker and businessman, saying he had spent seven years on Commerzbank’s board and had also worked with Deutsche Bank and Credit Lyonnais.

That record establishes a substantial finance career, but it does not establish that Dalman is Cardiff’s majority shareholder or quantify a fortune made through banking. His chairmanship and Tan’s majority ownership are distinct roles.
Swansea’s current controlling group and its business backgrounds
Swansea’s current ownership statement attributes 71.18% of the ultimate holding company to Swansea Football LLC, controlled by Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen. Companies House lists both men as active persons with significant control of Swansea City Football 2002 Limited. The club’s 2025 update refers to them as part of the controlling group.
In the club’s November 2024 ownership announcement, Cravatt said, “Each of us in the ownership group have built and run successful businesses from the ground up.” Cohen also referred to businesses he had built and led. Those comments describe how members of the group characterize their experience; the cited club material does not provide detailed business histories identifying which companies generated Cravatt’s or Cohen’s personal wealth.
The transaction announcement, made on 23 November 2024 after EFL clearance, said the incoming group would inject more than £20 million into Swansea to cover operating costs and support strategic investment. That was a planned group funding commitment to the club—not a statement of either investor’s net worth, nor an amount attributed to one individual.

Nigel Morris: consumer finance and fintech investing
Swansea’s 2023 investment announcement describes Morris as a co-founder of Capital One Financial Services. It says that, as the company’s president and chief operating officer, he helped pioneer an information-based strategy in consumer lending. The club also identifies him as managing partner of QED Investors, a fintech venture-capital platform he co-founded.
Those roles document pathways through financial services and venture capital. The announcement does not disclose the value of Morris’s Capital One stake, his investment returns, or a personal net-worth figure.

Swansea’s November 2024 announcement said the incoming group had purchased the remaining shares held by Steve Kaplan, Jason Levien, Jake Silverstein, and their partners. They should therefore be treated as former Swansea investors, not current controlling owners on the basis of older club notices.
A 2020 Swansea announcement described Silverstein as chairman and CEO of Stormlight Holdings, a private investment firm of the Silverstein family, and as a co-owner of Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash at that time. The 2024 announcement confirms his Swansea interest was bought out, but the cited sources do not state how much he received or establish his current personal net worth.

The 2024 sale notice and Companies House records likewise establish Kaplan and Levien as former owners, but the available club and company disclosures do not provide detailed, individual business histories or reliable personal-wealth figures for them. Swansea’s company record also lists Andy Coleman’s control status as ceased on 30 May 2025; he should not be described as a current controlling owner on the basis of an earlier notice.
Why club stakes and funding pledges are not personal fortunes
A shareholding percentage is a measure of ownership, not a cash balance. To turn a club stake into an estimate of personal wealth, a reader would need a defensible valuation of the relevant shares and information about the owner’s other assets, debts, liabilities, and ownership arrangements. The club percentages above do not supply those figures.
Likewise, a funding commitment describes money an ownership group plans to put into a club. Swansea’s announced commitment of more than £20 million was for the club’s operating costs and strategic investment; it cannot be assigned to one investor as personal wealth. None of the cited club announcements, company disclosures, or Berjaya profile gives consistent, current personal net-worth totals for the people discussed here.
For that reason, a specific claim that any named person “made millions” should be tied to a named, dated wealth ranking or another clear valuation source, with its method explained. The evidence cited here supports business biographies and ownership roles, not a comparable ranking of individual fortunes.
