Boona’s Tandem Shower was designed to let two people shower at once without leaving one person cold: the retrofit system sends water to two opposing showerheads from one existing shower setup. On April 22, 2022, GeekWire reported that the Kickstarter campaign had raised $525,000 from 2,400 backers, with 24 days still left. That was a mid-campaign figure, not a verified final total.
The problem Boona set out to solve
The founders’ insight was simple: when two people share a conventional shower, one may spend the time away from the water. Brett Skaloud and Jeff Feiereisen wanted to make sharing a shower more comfortable and, as Skaloud put it, encourage “more present conversations” and closer relationships. GeekWire’s April 22, 2022 profile quotes Skaloud describing the team’s interest in products that could help couples connect.
Boona’s first product, Tandem Shower, addressed the cold-shower problem by supplying two showerheads from one existing water line. The launch-era description in Product Hunt’s launch newsletter describes an aftermarket setup with opposing heads, a rod-like mount, three pressure settings and a valve to adjust how water is divided between them. Those details describe the product at launch; installation and operation should follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the specific model.
Who founded Boona
Skaloud and Feiereisen were former Amazon engineers. GeekWire connected their prior work to Amazon Go and, in Skaloud’s case, Amazon Scout. Feiereisen acknowledged that their résumés were an unusual fit for a shower product: “It’s definitely interesting to go from very sophisticated electromechanical devices, cutting edge work that took many, many, many years and thousands of people and billions of dollars … to this.”

- 💦Stable Build & Secure Connections:Made with stainless steel and ABS, this shower system is built for steady daily bathroom use. The support bar helps keep the setup stable, while threaded connections help reduce leaks when properly installed. Water flow may vary by home water pressure.
The founders’ Amazon background also became part of the campaign’s story. Feiereisen told GeekWire: “We both worked at Amazon, and I was thinking, ‘Should we tell people that we worked at Amazon?’” The shift from large, complex engineering projects to a household retrofit product helps explain the startup’s distinctive origin, but it does not by itself establish how the shower performs.
What the $525,000 Kickstarter figure means
GeekWire reported the campaign had raised $525,000 from 2,400 backers as of Friday, April 22, 2022, while 24 days remained. A separate milestone in a Kickstarter update archived by Kicktraq said the campaign had passed $500,000 and 2,000 pre-orders on April 21, 2022. These are campaign-time snapshots, not confirmation of the final amount raised or the number of products ultimately delivered.

GeekWire said the base Kickstarter offer was $249 for the Tandem Shower with an additional showerhead, and that delivery was then expected in early 2023. Both were historical campaign terms: the pledge amount is not a current retail price, and the projected delivery date does not establish when backers actually received the product. Current price, availability, warranty, support terms and Amazon listing status are not established by the cited sources.
What the product listing establishes
The ICC Evaluation Service PMG-1692 product certificate, accessed in 2026, lists BOONA Tandem Shower models in single- and dual-showerhead configurations. It includes finish variants such as chrome, black, Miami, brushed nickel and gold, and listed flow rates including 1.75 and 2.5 gallons per minute. These entries establish that the certificate names those model variants; they do not confirm current stock, that every configuration is available in every market, or compatibility with every bathroom.

The certificate says recognized models must be installed according to the manufacturer’s published instructions and applicable code. That is important for any retrofit product: a listing is not a universal fit guarantee, and the appropriate installation depends on the actual model, shower setup and local requirements. The cited material does not provide comparative performance tests or measured water-savings results. GeekWire discussed potential savings only in the context of two people showering together rather than taking two separate showers.

The Kickstarter figure shows substantial reported backing at a specific point during the 2022 campaign. It does not establish that the product delivered on schedule, that the campaign’s projected date was met, or that the system reduced water use in real-world homes. The sources establish the product concept, launch-era mechanics and certified model variants, but not current commercial terms or independent performance results.
