Announced in 2019, it replaced Roundup Ready Plus and Bayer Innovation Plus. Contemporary coverage said growers could begin earning cash incentives after buying two qualifying products, with further rewards tied to certain herbicide combinations.
What Bayer announced for 2020
On August 15, 2019, Successful Farming reported that Bayer had announced Bayer Plus Rewards for the 2020 program year. The report described a broader selection of eligible products across seed, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides, along with greater visibility into rewards and more redemption flexibility. It said the new program replaced Roundup Ready Plus and Bayer Innovation Plus; it did not compare those programs’ financial terms.
Bayer’s 2021 Capital Markets Day presentation later described more than 50 Bayer seed and crop-protection products as eligible. Bayer characterized the program as encouraging integrated management solutions and multiple modes of action. That is Bayer’s retrospective corporate description, not independent evidence of participation, savings, or farm-performance results. Bayer’s March 10–11, 2021 presentation
How the reported incentives worked
Successful Farming’s 2019 account summarized the announced mechanics as follows. These are figures reported in that article, not a substitute for the complete official 2020 program terms.

The article directed growers to MyBayerPLUS.com to activate an account and register. The available account of the announcement does not establish the precise 2020 deadlines, geography, complete qualifying-product list, or all redemption conditions. Later Bayer program requirements apply to their own program year and should not be treated as proof of the 2020 rules.

Successful Farming attributed a statement to Leticia Goncalves, identified at the time as Bayer’s U.S. crop science country division head. As reported by the publication from Bayer’s release, she said the company was working with retailers to let growers choose from a broad portfolio and described the program as driven by “smart agronomic decisions.” She also said the portfolio and rewards would give loyal customers flexibility to choose products for their farms. This is an attributed company statement, not an independent assessment of the program’s results.
