Angelina Jolie has described travel and adventure as things she spends on, and reporting documents several property purchases and her creative venture, Atelier Jolie. But the available reporting does not establish 24 separate spending categories, a current annual budget, or a complete account of her private finances. Here is what is documented—and what the figures do and do not mean.
What the reporting can—and cannot—show
The phrase “24 ways” suggests a detailed personal spending list, but the available sources do not support one. They document selected real-estate transactions, Jolie’s stated purpose for Atelier Jolie, a comment about travel, and a historical report about donated proceeds from celebrity photographs. None provides an audited budget or a reliable total of her personal spending.

That distinction matters: a property’s purchase price is not an annual expense, a listing price is not a completed sale, and money donated to a foundation is not personal spending.
Properties reported in the United States and Cambodia
Beverly Hills
Architectural Digest reported in 2025 that Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton bought a Beverly Hills mansion in 2000 for $3.75 million. The reported purchase price is a historical transaction, not an estimate of its present value or a measure of Jolie’s current spending.

Cambodia
Architectural Digest also reported that Jolie bought a rural home in Cambodia in 2003 for an undisclosed amount. The publication described her intention to help her son Maddox stay connected to Cambodian culture and to provide a base for conservation work. The source does not disclose the purchase price or the property’s current value.
Los Feliz, Los Angeles
Architectural Digest reported that Jolie bought the former Cecil B. DeMille estate in Los Feliz in 2017 for $24.5 million, describing it as a home for raising her children. Realtor.com reported on May 4, 2026 that the estate was listed for $29.9 million. That is an asking price reported on that date; it does not establish that the property sold or what it might ultimately fetch.
Other homes and places she has lived
Architectural Digest’s account also discusses Château Miraval, which Jolie co-owned with Brad Pitt, and distinguishes owned homes from rentals used during filming, including in London and Long Island. A rental stay should not be counted as an owned property or treated as evidence of a purchase.
Atelier Jolie: a creative space, not a disclosed budget
In a September 20, 2024 interview with CR Fashion Book, Jolie described Atelier Jolie as a collective of artists and designers. She said, “My intention was to build a space—a home, really—for people to create and be inspired.” She also said she wanted to challenge overconsumption and described working alongside tailors, costume designers, pattern makers, artists, and designers.
Rank #3
Architectural Digest reported that the New York site is a 6,600-square-foot former studio associated with Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, and that Jolie reportedly signed an eight-year lease. Neither that report nor Jolie’s interview establishes the lease cost, operating expenses, or total investment. The stated creative purpose is documented; a financial breakdown is not.
Travel and adventure
Asked what she had most recently splurged on, Jolie told Harper’s Bazaar in 2026 that she was on her way to Rwanda with some of her children to see gorillas. She added, “Travel and adventure is what I spend on.” That is a direct statement about what she values, but the interview gives neither the cost of that trip nor a general travel budget.
Rank #4
Jolie has also spoken about future plans to spend substantial time in Cambodia and visit family members around the world. Realtor.com quoted her August 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter on those plans. They indicate an international focus, but do not document particular travel expenditures.

Vogue reported in 2015 that proceeds from the sale of the first photographs of Jolie’s daughter Shiloh were reported at $7.5 million, and that proceeds from photographs of twins Knox and Vivienne were reported at double that amount. Vogue said the proceeds were donated to the Jolie-Pitt Foundation. This is a dated report about donated proceeds, not evidence of Jolie’s current giving practices or personal expenses.

How to read the figures
- Purchase prices: The reported $3.75 million Beverly Hills and $24.5 million Los Feliz figures are historical purchase prices, not current property valuations or annual costs.
- Asking price: Realtor.com’s $29.9 million figure is a May 2026 listing price for the Los Feliz estate, not proof of a sale.
- Undisclosed costs: The Cambodia home’s purchase price and Atelier Jolie’s lease and operating costs are not stated in the cited reporting.
- Donated proceeds: Vogue’s figures concern photo-sale proceeds it said went to a foundation; they should not be added to Jolie’s personal spending.
