In coverage published on May 18, 2025, HONOR India brand custodian CP Khandelwal rejected reports that the company was exiting India and said four smartphones were being prepared for launch. The statement, as reported by Gizchina, stopped short of identifying any model.

HONOR’s post-Huawei return to India had not produced a consistently visible launch rhythm. A quiet period, uncertainty around the expected HONOR X9c arrival and reported operational or distribution concerns involving its local partner, HTech, made a retreat appear plausible to observers. Social-media posts and republished reports then amplified that interpretation.

This does not establish that HONOR formally suspended Indian operations. It explains why limited activity was read by the market as a possible withdrawal.
Which four phones were promised?
HONOR did not publicly identify them in the reported announcement. The current HONOR India catalog displays four phones—HONOR X9c, HONOR X7c 5G, HONOR X9b and HONOR 90—but the catalog does not say that these are the same four devices referenced in May 2025.

What HONOR’s current India presence demonstrates
HONOR’s India homepage and phone catalog remain active, with product, support, comparison and purchase-navigation sections. That supports the narrow conclusion that the company did not immediately shut its India operation.

A live website does not, by itself, prove sales volume, retailer coverage, market share or a durable long-term commitment. It also does not establish that every catalog model is new, currently in stock or part of the four-phone announcement.
What happened after the reassurance
HONOR’s official India brand archive continued to carry company and global activity, including coverage of the HONOR 400 series in May 2025, HONOR 500 series in November 2025, the Magic8 series in October 2025 and MWC 2026 activity. Those entries show international activity, but a global announcement is not evidence of an Indian launch. India availability, timing, specifications and pricing can differ by market.

- India availability: Check that the exact model and storage configuration appear on HONOR India or an authorized Indian channel.
- Warranty jurisdiction: Imported or global units may not receive the same India warranty coverage as India-sold phones.
- Software support: Do not infer a specific Android or security-update duration merely from HONOR maintaining a website.
- Service access: Confirm repair locations and support options in your area.
- Regional hardware: Verify Indian 5G-band compatibility, charger specifications and memory variants.
- Parts and resale: Unofficial imports can make cases, screens, batteries, trade-ins and resale more difficult.

What remains unknown
- The names of the four smartphones referenced in May 2025.
- Their Indian launch dates, prices and memory configurations.
- Whether all four were eventually launched in India.
- Whether any were delayed, canceled or treated as existing catalog products.
- Whether the announcement translated into stronger distribution or sales.
The original report gave no Indian prices. Overseas pricing should not be converted into an Indian price because taxes, storage options, offers and availability vary by market.
The accurate takeaway
HONOR’s denial was a legitimate statement that it was not leaving India at that point. The “four new phones” line was a reported future commitment, not a named roadmap or launch schedule. HONOR’s continuing India website supports ongoing presence, but readers should not treat the current catalog—X9c, X7c 5G, X9b and HONOR 90—as the confirmed four without separate launch evidence.
