Salary Sport’s current 2026–27 estimates list Sheffield United’s Kalvin Phillips as the Championship club-leading earner at £165,000 a week. Portsmouth’s John Swift is lowest among its 24 listed club leaders, at £15,000 a week. These are salary estimates, not confirmed contract figures, and publishers do not agree on every player’s reported wage.

Why salary estimates can differ

Publishers do not report one settled figure

Jarrod Bowen illustrates the uncertainty: Salary Sport lists him at West Ham on £125,000 per week, while Capology’s 2026–27 page and SalaryLeaks list £150,000. These are competing estimates, not proof that one figure is his exact wage. Capology’s West Ham salary page and SalaryLeaks’ West Ham salary page.

“Salary” may mean different things

Capology says all its salaries are estimates, not official figures. It describes verified entries as based on public reporting and/or sources close to Capology; unverified entries may be algorithmically estimated using personnel costs from official financial statements and/or UEFA publications. The site also cautions that personnel costs can include categories beyond first-team fixed player salary, and that loan wages may be split between a player’s current and former clubs. The EFL’s accounting guidance defines player salary costs more broadly than a weekly fixed-wage estimate: it includes gross basic salaries, signing-on fees, appearance fees, individual bonuses, and specified accommodation, relocation, travel, or motor costs. Check the club and player pairing before relying on the list

A salary database is not a live contract or registration record. The EFL’s official squad list provides registration context, but it does not confirm wages. Because club rosters and loan arrangements can change, check the EFL list for the relevant season before treating a listed player-club pairing as current. EFL squad list.
