For US customers, Weebly costs between $0 and $36 per month before taxes and other business expenses. The cheapest paid plan with a custom domain is Personal, at $13 per month when billed annually ($156 for the year) or $16 month to month. Professional is usually the better choice for a business that wants Square ads removed, while Performance is aimed at stores that will use advanced tools such as abandoned-cart emails and shipping labels.
The subscription is only part of the calculation. Domain renewal, payment processing, apps, email marketing, shipping, taxes, and optional Square services can all affect the real cost.

What each Weebly plan includes
Free: $0
Weebly’s free plan can be useful for testing the editor, publishing a personal project, or validating a basic store idea. The current comparison table lists features including SSL security, third-party embed code, unlimited storage, a shopping cart, unlimited items, item options and badges, inventory management, in-store pickup, an automatic tax calculator, SEO tools, lead capture, and an Instagram feed.
That does not make it a fully free business website. Your site uses a Weebly address rather than your own domain, and Square branding or ads remain visible. Those limitations can make a free site look less polished even when its functional tools are sufficient.
Payment methods, tax features, shipping, digital products, and checkout availability can vary by location. Check what is enabled for your country before relying on the free plan for selling.

Personal: $13 annually or $16 monthly
Personal is the lowest-cost paid option and costs $156 for a year at the annual-billing rate. Month-to-month billing costs $192 over 12 months, so annual billing saves $36 if you keep the site for the full year.
The important upgrade is the ability to connect a custom domain. That makes Personal a logical choice for a freelancer, portfolio, service business, blog, or small informational website that mainly needs a branded web address.
Choose carefully, though. If you also want Square ads removed, stronger statistics, phone support, or the domain benefit associated with Professional, the small price gap may make Personal false economy.
Professional: $15 annually or $20 monthly
Professional costs $180 for a year when billed annually, or $240 over 12 months at the monthly rate. It adds features listed by Weebly such as a free-domain benefit, advanced site statistics, removal of Square ads, password protection, phone support, and additional customization.
Professional is only $24 more per year than Personal on annual billing. That modest difference makes it attractive for an established business whose credibility would suffer from platform advertising or whose owner values additional support and reporting.
The free-domain benefit should not be treated as permanent. Square’s terms generally describe coverage for up to one year with an eligible paid subscription, followed by applicable registration and renewal fees. Verify eligibility and the renewal price before purchasing. See Square’s domain terms.
Performance: $32 annually or $36 monthly
Performance costs $384 for a year on annual billing, or $432 over 12 monthly payments. Weebly lists ecommerce features including abandoned-cart emails, shipping labels, item reviews, more advanced ecommerce insights, and additional marketing and operational capabilities.
Compared with Professional, Performance costs $204 more per year on annual billing—$17 more per month. The upgrade makes sense only when those tools can recover more than $204 in revenue, save meaningful staff time, or replace paid services you would otherwise buy.

The real cost of a Weebly website
Use two budgets: fixed platform costs and variable operating costs.
1. Website subscription
Your starting fixed cost is $0, $156, $180, or $384 per year at the annual rates above. Taxes may be added at checkout, and promotional pricing may apply only to an initial term. Check the renewal price and automatic-renewal settings before paying.
2. Domain registration and renewal
Free does not include a custom domain. Professional may include an eligible domain benefit for up to the first year, but registration and renewal charges can apply afterward. Personal users may need to buy or connect a domain separately.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesDomain renewal can occur separately from website-plan renewal. Square’s terms indicate that domain auto-renewal may be charged before expiration. Keep the domain renewal date and payment method in your records.

- Book - 1, 000 books to read before you die: a life-changing list (1000 before you die)
- Language: english
- Binding: hardcover
If you already own a domain, you may be able to connect or transfer it. Transfer requirements are explained in Weebly’s domain-transfer documentation.
3. Apps and integrations
Bookings, memberships, specialized forms, advanced email capture, accounting connections, and other functions may require third-party apps or services. Review recurring app charges—not just one-time setup fees—before adding them to your site.
4. Marketing and content
Email marketing, premium stock photography, logo design, copywriting, professional photography, and advertising are separate business expenses. A low website subscription does not eliminate the cost of attracting customers or producing credible content.
5. Taxes, shipping, and fulfillment
Sales-tax obligations depend on your business and customers’ locations. Shipping labels, postage, packaging, storage, returns, and fulfillment are also separate from the website subscription. Weebly’s tax and shipping tools do not make those underlying obligations or expenses disappear.
Weebly ecommerce costs: payment processing matters
When you sell online, payment processing is charged separately from the website subscription. Square’s US documentation currently lists online or invoice card payments at:
- 3.3% + $0.30 on Square Free.
- 2.9% + $0.30 on Square Plus or Premium.
Your actual rate depends on the Square account and plan attached to your business. Do not assume that Weebly’s Performance website plan automatically gives you Square Premium processing rates; Weebly’s website plans and Square’s Free, Plus, and Premium payment plans are related but not one-to-one. Check your rate in Square Dashboard and review Square’s current fee documentation.
Square says processing fees apply to the total transaction amount, including tax and tip, and are deducted from the transaction amount. International cards can also matter: Square lists an additional 1.5% fee for cards issued in a different country from the account’s location.
Two simple processing examples
At 3.3% + $0.30, a $50 order produces a percentage fee of $1.65 plus $0.30, or $1.95 in total processing fees. This is an illustration of the published rate, not a guarantee of your account’s pricing.
Rank #4
Small orders feel the fixed fee more sharply. On a $10 order, the same formula produces $0.63—6.3% of the order before shipping, product costs, taxes, refunds, or other expenses.
For a high-volume store, payment fees can exceed the website subscription by a wide margin. For a low-volume store, the subscription may be the larger fixed expense. Forecast both rather than comparing only monthly plan prices.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Annual versus month-to-month billing
| Plan | Annual-billing total | Monthly-billing total | Annual-billing saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal | $156 | $192 | $36 |
| Professional | $180 | $240 | $60 |
| Performance | $384 | $432 | $48 |
Annual billing is cheaper at these listed rates if you keep the plan for 12 months. Month-to-month can still be the sensible choice if the site is seasonal, experimental, likely to migrate, or not yet proven.

Before choosing annual billing, confirm the refund policy, automatic renewal, renewal price, promotional terms, and whether taxes are added. The cheapest nominal rate is not automatically the cheapest option if you cancel early.
Which Weebly plan should you choose?
- Choose Free if you are testing an idea, can accept a Weebly subdomain and Square branding, or need a temporary site.
- Choose Personal if a custom domain is essential and the site is primarily informational.
- Choose Professional if the site represents an established business, Square ads would hurt trust, or advanced statistics and phone support matter. The annual upgrade from Personal is only $24.
- Choose Performance if you operate a serious small store and can identify a concrete financial or operational benefit from abandoned-cart emails, shipping labels, reviews, or advanced ecommerce reporting.
For a basic service website, Personal is generally the lowest-cost branded route. Professional is often the more comfortable business choice. For a simple store, compare Professional and Performance feature by feature rather than assuming the most expensive tier is necessary.
When Weebly may be a poor fit
Weebly can be good value for simple websites and small, straightforward stores. It becomes less compelling when your requirements include complex catalog structures, subscriptions, memberships, wholesale pricing, sophisticated international commerce, custom workflows, extensive multilingual content, or a large ecosystem of specialist integrations.
It may also be a poor fit if you want broad design flexibility, need advanced publishing controls, or prefer a payment processor independent of the Square ecosystem. These are suitability considerations, not universal product limitations; confirm the specific feature you need before switching.

- Squarespace: Consider it for polished templates, portfolios, and content-led sites. See Squarespace pricing.
- Shopify: Consider it when ecommerce infrastructure, inventory, apps, and sales channels are the primary requirement. See Shopify pricing.
- WordPress.com: Consider it when publishing flexibility and extensibility outweigh ease of setup. See WordPress.com plans.
- Square Online: Consider it when your business already runs on Square POS, inventory, invoices, or payments. Compare it separately using Square Online’s plan page; its pricing structure is not interchangeable with Weebly’s website-plan table.

Are old Weebly pricing articles wrong?
Some older articles list plans at $10, $12, or $26 per month. Those figures may describe legacy pricing or an earlier update. For a US purchase in 2026, use Weebly’s current first-party pricing page rather than relying on an undated comparison article.
