A Honda S2000’s value depends on its model year and generation, condition, mileage, originality, and sale type. As a dated reference, Hagerty’s July 2026 guide puts a 2000 S2000 in its #3 Good Condition category at $23,033–$32,067; its page also reports a $31,500 average sale price across 125 sales of 2000–2003 cars in the preceding 12 months. These figures are reference points, not guaranteed prices for a particular car.

The figures below come from different providers and measure different things. They are not interchangeable appraisals.
| Reference | Figure | What it represents |
|---|---|---|
| Hagerty, July 2026 | $23,033–$32,067 | Guide range for a 2000 S2000 in Hagerty’s #3 Good Condition category. The page labels $23,033 low and $32,067 high; it reports no quarterly change, a 3.1% annual increase, and a 10.5% three-year increase. Hagerty’s 2000 S2000 value page |
| Hagerty, July 2026 | $31,500 average sale price | Average across 125 sales of 2000–2003 S2000s in the preceding 12 months, as reported on the guide page. It is a rolling sales statistic, not a price estimate for every AP1. Hagerty’s 2000 S2000 value page |
| CLASSIC.COM, accessed October 8, 2026 | $29,699 | AP1 Market Benchmark; CLASSIC.COM defines AP1 as 2000–2003. Honda S2000 market page |
| CLASSIC.COM, accessed October 8, 2026 | $35,327 | AP2 base-model Market Benchmark for 2004–2009. S2000 AP2 base-model market page |
The figures can differ because the providers’ methods, sample sets, time windows, and categories differ. Use a benchmark to orient your estimate, then compare it with transactions for cars most like the one you are pricing.
Why S2000 prices vary
Year and generation
The S2000 is a two-door roadster introduced for the 2000 model year and produced through 2009. Market references commonly divide it into AP1 (2000–2003) and AP2 (2004–2009). Compare like with like rather than treating every S2000 as one price category. CLASSIC.COM’s model overview

Condition, mileage, and originality
Hagerty’s $23,033–$32,067 range applies specifically to its #3 Good Condition category. A car in another condition category should not be assigned that range without adjustment. Mileage and originality also matter when comparing individual cars, but the available figures do not establish a universal dollar adjustment for either mileage or modifications.
Sale type
A valuation estimate, a market benchmark, an asking price, an auction bid, and a completed sale are different evidence. A bid does not establish that the car changed hands at that price, and an asking price is not proof of a sale.

Recent sale examples—and what they do and do not show
- A 2001 S2000 recorded a completed sale of $23,005 on May 21, 2026, according to its Hagerty Marketplace auction listing.
- A one-owner 2006 S2000 with 20,000 miles received a $38,250 high bid on February 16, 2026. The result summary identifies this as a bid, not a completed sale. Hagerty Marketplace auction listing
- Hagerty’s 2005 S2000 page reports a most recent sale of $34,388 on September 17, 2026, and a three-year auction high of $66,000. The recent sale and the three-year record answer different questions; the record high is not a typical value. Hagerty’s 2005 S2000 value page
These examples illustrate the range of outcomes rather than defining a standard price. A high bid, a record result, or one completed sale cannot by itself establish what another S2000 is worth.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to estimate a specific S2000
- Identify the exact year and generation. Start with the car’s model year and compare AP1 cars with AP1 references, or AP2 cars with AP2 references.
- Assess its condition and originality. Match it to a valuation guide’s condition category where possible, and note modifications or other differences that make it unlike the comparison cars.
- Account for mileage. Look for recent sales with similar mileage; do not apply a fixed mileage adjustment unless you have evidence supporting it for comparable cars.
- Check several recent completed sales. Separate completed transactions from current asking prices and bids. Keep the sale date and car details alongside each price.
- Use benchmarks as context, not a promise. Compare the closest sales with a guide estimate or market benchmark, recognizing that each source may use a different method or population.
For a buyer, this process helps judge whether an asking price is supported by comparable transactions. For a seller, it helps set a defensible asking range without presenting a guide value as a guaranteed sale price.
