HDFC Securities’ current website confirms the feature’s broad focus on risk, allocation and performance, but the detailed capabilities come from a PTI-sourced report published by The Tribune on 9 October 2026, not an official product specification. Neither source demonstrates that its recommendations improve returns.
What is HDFC Securities Portfolio Optimiser?
Portfolio Optimiser is a portfolio diagnostic and repair feature available through HDFC Securities’ digital platform. The company’s current homepage describes it as a way to analyze portfolio risk, allocation and performance, then realign holdings with goals. HDFC Securities’ homepage links to the feature through InvestRight and carries a general warning that securities-market investments are subject to market risks.

The name “health and repair” describes the feature’s reported two-part purpose: assess what an investor holds, then present possible changes. It is a digital financial service, not a physical product. The detailed feature description and the “India’s first” characterization appeared in a PTI-sourced report in The Tribune on 9 October 2026; HDFC Securities’ homepage independently confirms the feature, but does not provide the same detailed specification.
What does it reportedly check?
The Tribune’s 9 October 2026 report describes a three-stage process covering an initial snapshot, deeper diagnostics, and suggested portfolio changes. These are reported capabilities; they have not been independently tested.
#1 Best Overall
1. Portfolio health snapshot
The first view reportedly summarizes market-cap and sector allocation, concentration, returns relative to a benchmark, beta-based risk profile, growth or value style, and top gainers and losers. This is intended to give investors a quick picture of how their holdings are distributed and how they have performed against a reference index.
2. Deeper equity and mutual fund analysis
The report says the deeper review includes equity indicators such as Sharpe ratio, beta and standard deviation, along with liquidity alerts. For mutual funds, it reportedly examines category allocation, concentration at the fund level, and look-through exposure to the underlying stocks, sectors and market capitalizations. Look-through analysis can reveal exposures that are less obvious when an investor sees only the fund names in a portfolio.
Rank #2
3. Portfolio Repair suggestions
The report describes a Portfolio Repair engine that can produce research-backed buy and sell recommendations with calculated quantities. It says the interface offers “Sell All” and “Buy All” actions and adjusts recommendations dynamically when additional capital is added. A suggested trade is still a proposal, not an instruction an investor must follow; the report does not establish how recommendations are generated or whether trades are executed automatically.

According to The Tribune report, a risk profiler uses an investor’s time horizon, financial capacity and risk tolerance to assign a Conservative, Moderate or Aggressive profile. The report says HDFC Securities Research curates model portfolios for these profiles.
It also describes Trending Picks and thematic model-portfolio collections. A comparison feature reportedly lets users compare their holdings with model portfolios across allocation, exposure, returns and risk. The source does not explain the underlying selection or comparison methodology, so these tools should be treated as company-provided reference points rather than independent assessments.
How can customers access it?
HDFC Securities’ current homepage links Portfolio Optimiser through its InvestRight digital platform. The available sources do not specify the exact in-app navigation path, which accounts are eligible, whether holdings must be imported or linked, or whether the feature has a separate charge. Customers should check the current InvestRight interface and applicable account terms for those details.

What is known—and not known—about the tool?
The current official homepage confirms Portfolio Optimiser’s broad purpose: analysis of risk, allocation and performance. The detailed 2026 launch-report description adds specific diagnostics and proposed buy/sell actions. The evidence does not establish the following:

HDFC Securities’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Dhiraj Relli described “portfolio drift” as portfolios becoming over-concentrated in a few stocks, lacking sector diversification, containing underperforming mutual funds or carrying excessive exposure to high-risk companies. This is Relli’s characterization in the launch report, not a measured estimate of how many investors experience those issues.

How should investors use a portfolio diagnosis?
A diagnostic can help identify questions to investigate, but it cannot decide whether a trade is suitable for a particular investor. Before acting on a suggested change, check what it would do to diversification, risk, taxes, transaction costs and alignment with your goals and time horizon. The sources do not show that Portfolio Optimiser’s proposed changes outperform or guarantee returns. HDFC Securities itself cautions that securities-market investments are subject to market risks; review the relevant product documents and make decisions in light of your circumstances.
How does the 2026 feature relate to HDFC Securities’ earlier optimizers?
HDFC Securities announced separate Equity and Mutual Fund Optimizers on 1 July 2020. Its press note said those earlier tools scanned existing portfolios, assessed risk, identified weak stocks or funds and suggested replacements or model portfolios; it also said they were not transactional at that time. That historical description should not be assumed to define the capabilities or terms of the 2026 Portfolio Optimiser.
The 2020 note cited AMFI figures of ₹24.55 lakh crore in mutual fund industry assets under management and 9.10 crore folios as of 31 May 2020. Those figures are dated background, not current industry statistics or evidence of the newer tool’s results.
