The HBO Max $2.99-per-month Black Friday deal was real, but it is no longer available: Warner Bros. Discovery said the offer ended on December 1, 2025. It applied to the Basic with Ads plan for the first 12 months—not an ad-free plan. For current promotions and the price you would actually pay, check HBO Max’s official signup flow.
What the $2.99 HBO Max deal offered
Warner Bros. Discovery announced the promotion on November 24, 2025. Eligible subscribers could get HBO Max Basic with Ads for $2.99 per month for the first 12 months. The company compared that promotional rate with its stated $10.99 monthly price and called it 70% off. These were the company’s terms for that offer, not a current price guarantee.

The published deadline was Monday, December 1, 2025. Because that date has passed, the headline’s “happening now” wording is stale as of October 4, 2026. The announcement does not establish that the same deal, or another promotion, is available today. Warner Bros. Discovery’s announcement contains the original terms.
Who could sign up, and through which providers?
The 2025 announcement said both new and returning subscribers were eligible through HBO Max’s website and several partner services. Amazon Fire TV had a narrower eligibility rule: the offer there was for new HBO Max customers only.

Those channels describe how the expired promotion could be redeemed; they do not show that it remains open through any provider.

Use HBO Max’s official signup or your existing billing provider to see the offer and total shown for your account. The displayed checkout price is more useful than an old promotion headline because availability and billing terms may depend on the route you use.

HBO Max’s US subscription-plan help page lists Basic with Ads at $10.99 per month or $109.99 per year. Treat those figures as a reference from the help page, not a guaranteed checkout quote for every subscriber today. Confirm the plan, billing period, and any introductory terms shown before subscribing. HBO Max’s US plan information is the official reference.

What to compare before subscribing
- Plan: The expired $2.99 offer was for Basic with Ads; do not assume it applied to an ad-free plan.
- Introductory and later billing: The promotion specified $2.99 monthly for 12 months. The announcement does not establish a reader’s renewal price after that period.
- Eligibility and signup route: The announcement distinguished between general eligibility for listed partners and the new-customer-only condition for Amazon Fire TV.
- Whether the offer is still open: The stated December 1, 2025 deadline has passed. Look for terms and dates on the current official checkout instead of relying on archived deal copy.
