Hashstack describes borrowed funds as staying inside the protocol for use through supported integrations, rather than being freely withdrawn. The trade-off is that a larger loan relative to collateral leaves less room for losses before liquidation becomes possible. Hashstack’s published borrowing caps conflict, so the current maximum is not established by its available documentation.
What does undercollateralized borrowing mean?
Undercollateralized borrowing means depositing collateral worth less than the amount borrowed. Hashstack’s FAQ defines it as depositing collateral “lesser than the value of what we are borrowing” (Hashstack FAQ).
This differs from the familiar overcollateralized crypto loan, where collateral value exceeds the debt to provide a buffer against price changes. With a smaller collateral buffer, the lender’s ability to manage risk depends more heavily on limits, controls over the borrowed funds, and liquidation rules.
How Hashstack Open says the loan works
Hashstack’s developer introduction describes Open as a money market in which users borrow against collateral and spend their loans through configured integrations, including categories such as automated market makers, vaults, and decentralized exchanges. The borrowed balance remains within Open; the documentation says gains or losses from using it belong to the borrower. If the position breaches a threshold, Open can recover the loan by liquidating collateral (Hashstack developer introduction).

Hashstack’s overview gives Yagi Finance, Jediswap, MySwap, and dYdX as examples of integrations. These are examples named in that overview, not confirmation that each is currently available or supported (Hashstack overview).
What can borrowers withdraw?
Hashstack’s FAQ says borrowed amounts cannot be withdrawn. A February 2022 testnet announcement described a different arrangement: users could withdraw up to 70% of collateral value and use the remainder as in-platform trading capital. That announcement is historical testnet information, not evidence of current withdrawal terms (February 2022 testnet announcement).

So Open should not be treated as a conventional cash loan based on the later FAQ: its stated model is in-protocol use of borrowed funds. The older testnet description should not be used to infer present-day withdrawal access.
How much can you borrow against collateral?
Hashstack’s official pages do not agree on one maximum. The figures below belong to different pages and product contexts; they should not be combined into a verified current borrowing limit.

Because 3×, 5×, and 500% appear in different Hashstack materials, a prospective borrower should confirm the live limit shown by the protocol and its dated official terms. The available material does not resolve which cap currently applies.
Why liquidation risk matters
Hashstack says Open can liquidate collateral when a position falls below a threshold. A higher debt relative to collateral means a borrower has less cushion against changes that weaken the position. The practical risk depends on the threshold and the protocol’s liquidation process, but the cited documentation does not establish current threshold values or detailed procedures.

Do not assume a particular liquidation price, grace period, or fee from the general description. Those details need to be checked against current market-specific terms before borrowing.

Hashstack’s FAQ names Starknet as a supported network and Braavos and ArgentX as wallet examples (Hashstack FAQ). The homepage displays Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, USDC, and Starknet imagery, but those visuals alone do not establish which assets can currently be supplied or borrowed.

Asset lists have changed across product announcements. The February 2022 testnet announcement listed BTC, USDT, USDC, BNB, and HASH as initial supported assets. A later V1 announcement described primary markets including USDT, USDC, DAI, wETH, and wBTC (Hashstack V1 public-testnet announcement). These are dated historical lists, not a current market roster.
What product details remain uncertain?
The available Hashstack materials do not establish a single current borrowing cap, live asset markets, rates and fees, collateral thresholds, supported integrations, or broad operating availability. A historical Mainnet V0.10 guide described selecting collateral, a borrowed asset, a commitment period, and a displayed borrowing APR, including flexible and one-month commitment periods; it is product-history context rather than reliable current instructions (Hashstack Mainnet V0.10 guide).
The V1 public-testnet announcement also reported approximately US$10,000 in total value locked, more than 2,000 on-chain transactions, 210% average loan-to-value, and 27% average asset utilisation. Those are historical announcement metrics, not current usage or market conditions (Hashstack V1 public-testnet announcement).
Before committing funds, a borrower needs dated official terms for the exact market and network they intend to use. In particular, verify the live status of Open, the assets and integrations available, the borrowing cap, interest and fees, commitment rules, and liquidation thresholds.
