The report republishes an October 7 social-media post by Vikas Alwys; it does not independently confirm the compensation or the role’s terms.

What is known about the reported Gather role?
Moneycontrol says Singh later secured a remote software developer role at Gather with a reported annual package of ₹4 crore. The article republishes a post dated October 7, 2026, by Vikas Alwys, which states: “This guy secured a remote software developer role at Gather with a package of ₹4 crore per year.”
The figure should not be treated as verified base salary or take-home pay. Moneycontrol’s Hindi-language version says the compensation and job terms have not been independently confirmed. The available report does not explain what the package includes, whether any portion is variable, Singh’s employment status, the contract’s duration, or whether the role remains current. It also does not contain a first-person statement from Singh or Gather confirming the arrangement.

What this story can—and cannot—tell workers considering freelancing
Singh’s reported sequence is one person’s career account, not evidence that quitting a job or freelancing typically leads to a comparable income. The available report provides no basis for estimating how likely a similar outcome is for other workers.

Before leaving a steady job or evaluating a remote offer, a worker can seek written answers to practical questions such as:
Rank #3
- What amount is guaranteed base pay, and what depends on bonuses, equity, commissions, or other variable compensation?
- Would the work be as an employee or an independent contractor, and what benefits, tax obligations, and expenses follow from that status?
- Which currency and location apply to payment, and are there exchange-rate or transfer costs?
- How long does the agreement last, and what notice or termination terms apply?
- How predictable is the income, including gaps between freelance projects or delays in payment?
These are due-diligence questions for any worker assessing an opportunity; Moneycontrol does not establish how they apply to Singh’s reported Gather role.
