Hamza Choudhury’s reported weekly wage is an estimate, not a figure confirmed by either club. Capology lists an estimated gross fixed salary of £50,000 a week for 2026/27, excluding bonuses. Leicester City announced on 31 August 2026 that Choudhury had joined Sheffield United permanently, subject to league clearance, so the old framing that Sheffield United was merely circling him is out of date.
What is Hamza Choudhury’s estimated weekly wage?
Capology estimates Choudhury’s gross fixed salary at £50,000 per week for the 2026/27 season. Capology states that its salary figures are estimates and are not official disclosures: Hamza Choudhury Salary Profile.
That figure is not independently confirmed by Leicester City or Sheffield United in the sources available. Another provider, Valuball, gives a different estimate of £30,000 per week. The disagreement means neither figure should be presented as his confirmed pay, and the £50,000 estimate should not be described as his current Leicester wage after his move.
Did Choudhury leave Leicester City?
Yes. Leicester City announced on 31 August 2026 that Choudhury had joined Sheffield United on a permanent deal, subject to league clearance. The announcement described his departure as the end of a 21-year association with Leicester; he had joined its academy at age seven. See the club’s announcement.

Leicester’s announcement does not establish Choudhury’s Sheffield United salary, the transfer fee, or his precise contract terms. It also makes the original “as Sheffield United circle” wording stale: Leicester reported a permanent move, rather than interest alone.
What did Choudhury achieve at Leicester?
- He made 166 senior appearances and scored three goals for Leicester.
- He was part of the club’s 2021 FA Cup-winning squad.
- He made 34 league appearances in Leicester’s 2023/24 Championship title-winning season.
These are career figures published by Leicester City, not salary statistics.

Capology labels its £50,000 weekly figure an estimated gross fixed salary for 2026/27 and excludes bonuses. Gross pay is not take-home pay: the estimate does not establish deductions, tax, bonuses, or the amount Choudhury receives after any applicable withholdings. Because the figure is an estimate and providers differ, it is best understood as a source-specific indication rather than a verified contract amount.
