The offer does not make every order free of extra charges: taxes and some location-specific regulatory or government-mandated charges may still appear at checkout.
Does Grubhub waive delivery and service fees on orders over $50?
Yes. Grubhub’s official materials describe a fee waiver for restaurant orders over $50, also phrased as orders of $50 or more. The benefit applies to the diner’s delivery and service fees; it is not a discount on the food itself. Grubhub announced it during its February 2026 Big Game campaign and presented it as a sustained value commitment, though that statement of intent is not a guarantee that the offer’s terms can never change. Grubhub’s homepage also promotes the $50+ restaurant-order offer.

Grubhub said it would absorb the diner fees. Its merchant-facing announcement, dated February 9, 2026, described the campaign as a way to encourage ordering and help merchants attract customers and increase order size: Grubhub’s campaign announcement.
What charges can still appear at checkout?
The fee waiver is not the same as a zero-charge checkout. Grubhub says taxes and a small number of regulatory or government-mandated charges may still apply, depending on location. A bag charge is one example. Check the order’s item subtotal and the final checkout breakdown in the app; the public materials do not establish every order-level eligibility detail or the exact calculation used for every order.

Do I need Grubhub+ for the $50 order benefit?
The reviewed company language presents the $50+ restaurant-order fee waiver separately from Grubhub+ benefits and does not say that membership is required for this offer. Grubhub promotes Grubhub+ separately, so do not assume that a membership is needed to qualify for the stated fee waiver—or infer that every Grubhub+ benefit applies to this order. Check the current offer terms and checkout screen for your specific order.
Where is the offer available?
Grubhub describes this as a U.S. restaurant-ordering offer. A Seattle location page also mentions the benefit and refers to restaurants and many other merchants, but that local wording does not establish that the broader merchant scope applies nationwide. Restaurant, location, and order-specific eligibility details are not fully set out in the reviewed public materials.

How much could the fee waiver save?
Grubhub reported that delivery apps charged about $13 in average fees on an order over $50. That is the company’s 2026 figure, not a guaranteed saving on a particular Grubhub order. The amount a diner avoids depends on the fees that would otherwise have applied to that order.
Grubhub also estimated about $675 in annual fee savings for a family placing one $50-or-more delivery order each week. That is the company’s illustrative scenario, not a promise of household savings: actual savings depend on order frequency, location, and the fees that would otherwise be charged. These figures and the company’s description of the offer are in Grubhub’s February 2026 announcement.

What to check before placing an order
- Build a qualifying restaurant order. Confirm that the restaurant order subtotal reaches the stated $50 threshold; the public offer language does not explain every detail of how the subtotal is calculated.
- Review the fee lines before paying. Check that the delivery and service fees are waived, then look for taxes or any regulatory or government-mandated charges that remain.
- Use the final checkout total. The checkout breakdown for your location and order is the practical way to confirm the charges before submitting payment.
