The $324.8 million figure is the stated award value. It should not be read as revenue already recognized, profit, or cash received by Granite; the available reporting does not establish those accounting outcomes.

AD HOC NEWS reported on October 5, 2026, that Granite Construction shares rose 2.56% to close at $119.84 on October 2. That is a secondary news report, not an independently confirmed daily market-data figure. Why the gain cannot be attributed to the award
Chronology alone is not evidence of cause. Shares can move for many reasons, and the reviewed reports do not isolate the tunnel award as the reason for the reported daily change. What the tunnel project is expected to involve
iTechGuides describes the project as 22,300 linear feet of 20-foot-diameter main tunnel and 3,115 linear feet of ancillary tunnels, with shafts and connecting infrastructure. It reports that construction was expected to begin in fall 2026 and finish in winter 2030. These scope and schedule details are secondary reporting, rather than details independently confirmed here against Granite’s full project announcement.

The same report says the completed project is designed to eliminate 550 million gallons of combined-sewer releases annually. That is a projected outcome, not a measured result: the project had not yet reached its scheduled completion in the reported timeline.
