MoEngage said it would use the investment to develop its platform and Merlin AI and expand go-to-market and customer-success teams in North America and EMEA. TechCrunch reported that the transaction included approximately 60% primary shares and 40% secondary shares.
What was announced in November 2025?
The $100 million investment was announced by MoEngage on November 5, 2025. The company described Goldman Sachs Alternatives as an existing investor and A91 Partners as a new investor. TechCrunch reported that the investment was part of a Series F round and that MoEngage put its aggregate funding at $250 million following the announcement. That $250 million figure reflects the November announcement, not a current lifetime total.

TechCrunch reported an approximate split of 60% primary shares and 40% secondary shares. Primary investment typically puts capital into a company; a secondary transaction involves existing shares changing hands. The split is TechCrunch’s reporting, not a company-confirmed audited breakdown. TechCrunch’s November 4, 2025, report covered the transaction.
What does MoEngage sell?
MoEngage describes itself as a customer-engagement platform for consumer brands. Its software supports interactions across web, mobile, email, social, and messaging channels. The company positions its Merlin AI suite as a set of AI agents for marketing and product teams.
#1 Best Overall
TechCrunch described Merlin tools that can help draft marketing messages and variations, and assist with decisions about which customers receive an offer, through which channel, and when. These are descriptions of the platform’s capabilities, not independently tested results.
How did MoEngage say it would use the investment?
In its November 5 company announcement, MoEngage said the funds would support platform development, including Merlin AI, and expansion of go-to-market and customer-success operations in North America and EMEA. Those were plans stated at the time of the announcement, not confirmed outcomes.
The company framed the investment against its reported international growth. CEO and co-founder Raviteja Dodda told TechCrunch that North America generated more than 30% of revenue, Europe and the Middle East about 25%, and India and Southeast Asia 45%. Those figures are approximate and attributed to Dodda in TechCrunch’s report. MoEngage separately said North America had become its largest revenue contributor and that its business there had doubled over the prior year; these are company-reported metrics, not independently audited financial statements.
What scale and customer examples did the company cite?
MoEngage said brands in 75 countries used its platform and that it powered digital experiences for more than 2 billion people each month. These are company-reported reach figures. In the same announcement, Dodda said more than 300 enterprises worldwide had turned to MoEngage and described customers reaching time-to-value within weeks of migration.
- Glance: MoEngage said the customer reduced campaign go-live times by 50% using Merlin AI. This is a company-provided example, not a typical or guaranteed result.
- SoundCloud: Hope Barrett, Senior Director of Martech, said MoEngage enabled SoundCloud to migrate more than 120 million users in 12 weeks. She also said AI-driven insights helped accelerate product launches and strengthen retention among paid users. This is a customer testimonial reported in MoEngage’s announcement.
How does the November investment fit MoEngage’s funding history?
Goldman Sachs had backed MoEngage before the 2025 investment. In June 2022, MoEngage announced a $77 million Series E led by Goldman Sachs Asset Management and B Capital, with existing investors also participating. MoEngage’s 2022 announcement documents that earlier funding relationship.
The company’s about page lists an additional $180 million in Series F funding and an employee and investor liquidity event dated December 17, 2025. This later entry means the November $100 million transaction should not be treated as the latest financing milestone. The page does not provide enough detail to reconstruct how the December event related to the November investment or to state full terms for either event.
What the investment signals—and what it does not
The announcement points to MoEngage’s effort to expand a business-to-business software platform, with AI features and North American and EMEA growth among its stated priorities. It does not, by itself, establish how the company is performing financially, whether the planned expansion succeeded, or how MoEngage compares with competing platforms. The reported funding figures, customer metrics, and growth claims have different sources and should be read with their attributions intact.
