What is Goldfish Awesome Sauce?
Awesome Sauce is a Goldfish cracker flavor inspired by the special sauces served with foods such as chicken tenders, fries, and burgers. The Campbell’s Company says it was designed to evoke that sauce experience without a dip. Senior Brand Manager Melanie Preston put it this way: “Our goal was simple: capture the intensity of the ultimate sauce experience in Goldfish form. No dipping, no mess, just bold flavor in every bite.”
The company says the flavor was ready two years before its summer 2025 debut, but stayed in a “flavor vault” until the team judged the timing right. That is the company’s account of its development timeline. The company’s product-development representative, Pilar Gaytan-Arroyo, Senior Manager, R&D, Crackers, called it “unexpected yet familiar” and “a crowd pleaser and super craveable.” She also said employee testers asked to take samples to a meeting; that anecdote is the company’s report, not an independent consumer study.

Publix’s product page likewise describes the crackers as sweet, smoky, and tangy. Its listing says they are baked and made without high fructose corn syrup, and labels the flavor limited-time; that product copy does not establish local store inventory.

One reviewer’s impression
A Taquitos.net review published in July 2025 described the flavor as tangy and smoky, with creaminess softening the tang. The reviewer said the first bite made the strongest impression: the flavor faded toward a more ordinary cracker taste, then returned with subsequent Goldfish. Those observations are subjective and may not match every eater’s experience.
How does it compare with Spicy Dill Pickle?
The launch coverage offers one useful flavor comparison, not a full product lineup comparison. Goldfish described Awesome Sauce as sweet mustard, spicy pickle, barbecue, and smoke; Spicy Dill Pickle was described as tangy pickle with a spicy kick. Parade reported that Goldfish suggested mixing the two at launch. That suggestion does not mean both flavors are currently available or sold together.

When did Awesome Sauce launch, and can you still buy it?
The Campbell’s Company says Awesome Sauce arrived as a limited-edition flavor in summer 2025, with shelf arrival beginning in June. Parade’s June 4, 2025 launch report said consumers could pre-order through Amazon and expected the crackers later that month at Target, Walmart, Amazon, and other nationwide retailers, while supplies lasted.
Parade listed a suggested retail price of $3.69 at launch. That is a 2025 launch-era price, not a verified current price. The available retailer and company pages do not establish whether the flavor has returned, what it costs now, or whether any particular store has it in stock.
