GoDaddy Website Builder does not have one dependable price for every customer: the amount depends on your country, plan, billing term, and the offer shown at checkout. Before subscribing, compare the amount due today with the full commitment and renewal price, then account for refund limits, possible cancellation fees, and—if you sell online—payment processing. GoDaddy’s pricing page was dynamic when reviewed on October 8, 2026, so confirm your own checkout total and save a copy of the selected terms.
Why there is no single current price to quote
GoDaddy offers a free starting option, but adding paid features to a free website can convert it to a paid plan that renews automatically at the then-current price. The applicable term and price should be shown on the service description or checkout; GoDaddy’s Commerce Services Agreement also says pricing and limits may change to then-current rates. Check the current pricing page for your market and verify the final checkout screen rather than relying on a monthly-equivalent headline.
On October 8, 2026, an indexed excerpt of an official regional landing page showed Basic at $9.99 per month and Commerce at $20.99 per month, with annual-plan savings claims. Those were search-result examples, not prices verified in the live page, and they do not establish your country, total due, term, or renewal rate. Treat them as unconfirmed examples, not current or universal offers.
Work out the real commitment before paying
A price labelled “per month” can mean a monthly equivalent for a term paid upfront, a true month-to-month subscription, or monthly installments on a fixed commitment. Those have different cash-flow and cancellation consequences. GoDaddy’s agreements say subscription term details are provided on the website, service description, or checkout; subscriptions renew automatically, and a subscription generally cannot be downgraded before its term ends unless otherwise specified.

- Identify the exact plan and feature you need. Confirm that the tier includes the requirement—such as an online store, appointments, or the marketing capacity you need—rather than comparing prices for plans that do different jobs.
- Read the billing term. Note whether the quoted monthly figure is an equivalent for annual billing or an installment amount, whether the full term is due today, and the number of payments required.
- Compare today’s charge with renewal. Record the checkout total, the initial term’s end date, the renewal date, and the renewal amount or how GoDaddy says it will be determined. A promotional first term does not establish the later price.
- Check included extras and their duration. If the offer includes a domain or professional email, confirm how long it is included and what renewal or continuation costs apply.
- Save proof of the offer. Keep a screenshot of the checkout price and term, plus the receipt and renewal details, so you can refer to what you selected.
What cancellation and refunds can cost
Refund windows depend on product and billing term
GoDaddy’s refund policy, last revised September 14, 2026, generally allows refunds within 30 days for annual plans and 48 hours for monthly plans, including terms shorter than a year. Websites + Marketing annual plans have a special seven-day refund window; monthly plans use the standard monthly terms. AI-credit plans have additional conditions: within the applicable period, credits must remain unused and AI-generated content must not have been downloaded or exported. A refund must be requested within the applicable period and before account closure. Read the refund policy for the product-specific rules.
The policy page also announces a change effective October 15, 2026, but only for customers who received a notice email on September 15, 2026. It says customers who bought or renewed before October 15 remain under the existing policy. Because the review date here is October 8, 2026, anyone making a decision after that date—or anyone who received the notice—should check the operative policy and their own eligibility.
A free domain may reduce the refund
If a purchased product included a free domain, GoDaddy says the domain’s non-promotional list price may be deducted from a refund when the product is cancelled. This means a nominally refundable subscription may not return the full amount paid; check the refund policy and identify whether a domain is part of your bundle before relying on a refund.
Some US installment commitments have an early-cancellation fee
For the specific US 12-month commitment described by GoDaddy, the customer still owes 12 monthly payments even though the initial payments are lower. Cancellation within the first 180 days may result in a fee: $40 for Websites + Marketing Basic, $50 for Premium, or $70 for Commerce, according to GoDaddy’s help page checked October 8, 2026. This schedule is limited to that US payment option; do not assume it applies to other countries, billing methods, or offers. Confirm the applicable terms before subscribing.

Store costs: subscription versus payment processing
If your site accepts payments, separate the builder subscription from transaction-related charges. The indexed official plan-page excerpt described Commerce as having a 0% online store transaction fee and listed eCommerce card processing at 2.7% + 30¢ per transaction. The live pricing page did not expose the same plan cards when reviewed October 8, 2026, so that processing figure is not verified as the current rate for your account or market. Check the current checkout offer and the Commerce Services Agreement for terms that apply to you.
A 0% platform transaction fee does not mean card acceptance is free: card processing is a separate charge. The agreement says subscriptions renew automatically, term details are provided through the website or checkout, and rates or limits may change. Confirm both any platform transaction fee and the payment processor’s rate rather than treating them as one charge.

What happens to your site data after cancellation
Under GoDaddy’s Website Services Agreement, entered website content and data are retained for 60 days after cancellation for customers with billing addresses in non-GDPR countries, and for 30 days for customers with billing addresses in GDPR countries. Export or otherwise preserve anything you need before cancelling; do not rely on that retention period as a long-term backup. The agreement also says auto-renewal can be turned off in the account or through customer service.

- Plan name and required features.
- Amount charged today and whether it covers the full term.
- Term length, installment count, and any early-cancellation charge.

- For sales, the separate platform transaction fee and card-processing rate.
- A saved screenshot or receipt of the exact offer and billing terms.
