Are these really the lowest prices ever?
No blanket “lowest prices ever” conclusion is supported. GMKtec’s wording is a marketing claim, while a defensible historical-low claim must match the exact memory, storage, operating-system, seller and coupon conditions.
- TechRadar reported a K8 Plus configuration at $650 versus $900 and described that configuration as having reached its lowest observed Amazon price: TechRadar K8 Plus coverage.
- GMKtec’s page listed another K8 Plus figure at $489.99. Those prices cannot be compared without matching the configurations and channels.
- TechRadar reported an M6 Ultra at $630 versus $800 while explicitly saying it was not the lowest price observed: TechRadar M6 Ultra coverage.
- Historical reports put the EVO-X2 at $1,639 for Prime members and at $1,499.99 in another promotion. See GSMGotech, Notebookcheck and Windows Central.
Use precise wording such as “GMKtec lists,” “lowest price found for this exact Amazon configuration,” or “among the lowest prices reported.” Do not turn a manufacturer “was” price, a coupon price or a barebones listing into an all-time-low claim.

Best GMKtec choices for gaming
EVO-X2: the premium integrated-graphics option
The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 platform is the most serious gaming candidate in this list. Its strong integrated graphics and potentially large unified-memory configurations can approach desktop-like results in some workloads, but independent coverage does not make it equivalent to a desktop with a current discrete GPU. Buy only if compactness, unified memory or local AI matters enough to justify the premium.

EVO-X1 combines a newer Ryzen AI processor with high-end integrated graphics. K8 Plus is the more approachable choice: TechRadar highlighted it for demanding everyday work, video editing and upgradeability. Neither should be sold as a modern AAA machine without game-specific, settings-specific testing.

K11, K12 and M6 Ultra: value gaming tiers
K11 offers a high-end integrated-graphics platform, while K12 and M6 Ultra are more realistic for esports, older games, indie titles and emulation at reduced settings or resolution. Integrated graphics share system memory, so dual-channel capacity, cooling and power limits can materially change results.
Before buying, verify tested 1080p settings, RAM channel configuration, fan noise, power-adapter capacity, Windows licensing and whether USB4 or OCuLink can support an external GPU. A Ryzen 9 label alone does not guarantee high-end gaming.

Best models for local AI
For serious inference: EVO-X2 and EVO-X1
These systems are the logical candidates when memory capacity, bandwidth and GPU acceleration matter. Large unified-memory configurations can hold models that smaller 16GB systems cannot, but replacing or expanding that memory may be difficult or impossible. They are better suited to inference and creator acceleration than to training large models.
Why an NPU badge is not enough
An NPU helps only when the operating system, drivers and application use it. Confirm support for the exact stack—such as Ollama, LM Studio, ComfyUI, DirectML or ROCm—and check model size, quantization, context length, backend and memory requirements. No independent AI benchmark for these specific Black Friday configurations was verified here, so TOPS figures should be treated as manufacturer specifications rather than demonstrated application performance.

Best models for productivity and creative work
- Basic office: G10 and G11 are inexpensive options for web, documents and streaming, but their older platforms leave little headroom.
- Mainstream multitasking: M6 Ultra, M5 Ultra, M7 Ultra, K12 and M8 cover ordinary office work, multiple displays and moderate multitasking, subject to the included RAM and SSD.
